I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that something isn't OK right now. That something might be new, or it might have been around a long time. You might be able to describe it perfectly, or you might just feel off without knowing why. Either way — you're here, and that's the only thing that matters right now. I start from wherever you are. No assumptions, no judgments, no one-size-fits-all approach. Just a genuine desire to understand you — what's brought you here, what you're carrying, and what you're hoping for. Therapy with me — whether you're coming alone or with a partner — tends to be honest and occasionally even a little lighthearted. The human experience isn't black and white, and neither is the work we'll do together. What stays consistent is that you'll have a space that belongs to you, where nothing you say or feel changes how I show up for you. For couples, that space belongs to both of you equally. I don't take sides. What I do is help you see the pattern you're both caught in — because most of the time it's the cycle doing the damage, not each other. When that shifts, something else becomes possible. No matter what it is you are navigating — depression, relationships, identity, or the gap between how you show up and how you actually feel inside — you don't have to have it figured out to reach out.

I have worked for several non-profit organizations since earning my Master's degree in Counseling. This allowed me to learn about lots of different people, the challenges we face and the resources available to help. I have had my own full time counseling practice since 2018 in the Greater Danbury and New Milford, CT areas. I currently provide HIPAA compliant virtual/telehealth therapy 4 days per week along with in-person sessions 1 day weekly in Brookfield. I love meeting new people and learning about their challenges and strengths, hopes and dreams, mistakes and regrets. My goal is to get to know you better and to help you with support, validation, and insight, to teach you coping skills and help you reduce the distressful feelings you may be struggling with.

Hi, I’m Jenna, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with preteens, teens, young adults, and women who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation, self-esteem, relationships, family dynamics, identity, and major life transitions. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up as your genuine self without feeling like you have to have everything figured out. My approach is warm, supportive, collaborative, and individualized. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work with each client to understand what they need and what will be most helpful for them. In sessions, we may spend time processing emotions and experiences, identifying patterns, building coping skills, working through relationships, setting boundaries, or figuring out practical next steps. I incorporate approaches such as CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, and creative interventions depending on the person and what they are working through. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood, and supported while also helping you build the skills and confidence to navigate life outside of therapy. You don’t have to know exactly where to start—we can figure that out together.

Hi! I'm a licensed mental health counselor living in Savannah, GA, licensed in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. I've been doing this work for 15 years, in settings ranging from community-based support to inpatient, partial hospital, and integrated primary care. I lean on evidence based strategies like CBT and DBT, but the real foundation is understanding how life experience and trauma live in the body, not just the mind. My job is to help you figure out what "better" actually looks like for you, then build a space where we can get there together.

Are you tired of feeling trapped in the same endless cycle? Does the weight of your thoughts feel heavier with each passing day? Enough is enough. It’s time to reclaim your reality, your joy, and your sense of self. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and I have a deep passion for helping people move through anxiety, depression, emotional stuck points, and the challenges that can make life feel overwhelming. I create a space where you can be real, feel heard, and begin making sense of what you are experiencing without judgment. My approach is warm, genuine, collaborative, and highly solution-focused. I believe therapy should be more than simply talking about the same problems week after week. Together, we work to understand what is happening, identify the patterns keeping you stuck, develop practical tools, and begin making meaningful changes that you can actually feel in your everyday life. I am naturally someone who wants to understand the “why,” but I am equally interested in the “what now?” What can we do differently? What can we change? What can help you feel more grounded, more confident, and more in control of your life? My work is rooted in empathy, curiosity, honesty, and collaboration. You do not have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We start exactly where you are, take things one step at a time, and work together toward creating a life that feels healthier, more fulfilling, and more like your own.

My name is Rick Amaral, ACSW, LCSW. Let me begin by fully introducing myself and sharing with you my years of experience as a clinician, manager and director. I have been working with children, teens and adult in many different formats (i.e. individual, family work, group work) for over 30 years in both private practice, as well as with local community mental health agencies. I am also an Adjunct Professor at the local area colleges for the past 20+ years, teaching both psychology and sociology courses (both graduate and undergraduate level courses). In our sessions, I would like to utilize a strengths-based approach that works alongside you to identify areas that you would like to work on. Acknowledging that all cars come with rearview mirrors, I would like to spend some time hearing from you about past life events and journey that you think have contributed to your development (both positively and otherwise). My preferred way of assisting you is to focus on a Life Narrative format. Such narratives allow for many chapters, some written, many left to be written. When warranted, I will provide psycho-educational information on topics of interest (i.e. diagnosis, skill building, coping skills, mindfulness, etc..) and will share with you both local and community supports that you could draw upon after our time together has come to a close.

Additionally, I have worked within the foster care system providing both individual and family therapy services to children, adolescents, and guardians. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth therapy for teens, adults, and families across Connecticut. I believe therapy should feel like a conversation—not like someone talking at you. My style is warm, direct, collaborative, and down-to-earth, creating a space where you can be honest without fear of judgment while also being challenged in ways that help you grow. Hello, and welcome! I’m Ana Blondet, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate life’s challenges. I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel safe, heard, and genuinely understood. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, meeting you where you are while helping you build the tools and confidence to move forward. In addition to providing therapy, I have spent more than a decade working as a school social worker, supporting elementary-aged children, many of whom receive special education services through an Individualized Education Program (IEP). This experience has given me a deep understanding of child development, behavioral challenges, family collaboration, and advocating for students’ social and emotional success. I am also a licensed DDS caregiver with over eight years of experience providing residential support to an individual with intellectual disabilities. In addition, I have several years of experience working in residential settings serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These experiences have strengthened my skills in providing person-centered care, promoting independence, supporting daily living needs, and advocating for the unique needs of each individual. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, life transitions, emotional regulation, and family concerns. As a bilingual therapist, I provide services in both English and Spanish and strive to create a culturally responsive and welcoming environment for every client. For those who desire it, I also offer the option to incorporate Christian faith into the therapeutic process while providing respectful, evidence-based care for individuals of all backgrounds and beliefs. My goal is simple: to help you heal, grow, and thrive, one step at a time.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you've spent a long time carrying things on your own. You may be feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, stuck in self-criticism, or wondering why the same patterns keep showing up in your life. My goal is to provide a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change. I believe therapy should be collaborative, compassionate, and practical. We'll work together to better understand your experiences while also building skills you can use in your everyday life. Although we'll explore difficult topics, therapy doesn't have to feel heavy all the time. I believe humor, curiosity, and genuine connection can be important parts of healing. I tailor therapy to each person's unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. My work is informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, and I often incorporate creative approaches such as writing, storytelling, art, or reflective exercises when they resonate with my clients. I also integrate inner child and parts-informed work, along with body awareness practices, to help clients better understand themselves and reconnect with their strengths. I have extensive experience supporting trauma survivors, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and chronic stress. I also have a special interest in helping people heal from the effects of weight stigma, body shame, and experiences of being judged or misunderstood because of their bodies. As a PhD student, I am passionate about advancing research in weight stigma and bringing that knowledge into compassionate, affirming clinical care.

I’m Whitney Wilfred, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, but you can call me Whit. I believe therapy can be a space where you no longer have to carry everything alone. I work with adults, particularly women who are used to being the strong one—the nurturer, the achiever, the one everyone depends on—but who may be quietly navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, or feeling disconnected from themselves. My approach is warm, honest, compassionate, and collaborative. I draw from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, and DBT while creating space to explore not only what you’re experiencing, but what may be underneath it. I’m especially passionate about supporting Black and Brown women as they heal, build confidence, strengthen relationships, reconnect with themselves, and move from simply surviving life to living it more fully. And while I’ll bring my clinical experience into the room, I also believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to come alongside you as we make room for healing, growth, and the version of you that may have gotten buried underneath everything you’ve had to carry.

“Between stimulus and response, there is a space; within that space lies your power and freedom…” Here’s the thing; we’re all basically the same- but then again, not. Our reactions (to unexpected events, comments, public scrutiny) can vary, depending on our nature, personality, character and whether or not we’ve had breakfast. While the last part was just to get your attention, I’m committed to understanding what makes YOU “tick” and why you respond the way you do. That, in and of itself may be fascinating, but my true intention is to get you back on track, help you find your footing and become laser-focused & confident, regardless of your circumstances! A bit about me: A native New Yorker, I acquired my MSW following a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CCNY. Essentially, I view myself as a scientist and life coach, a motivator who recognizes that we’re ALL unique individuals, but do share many of the same thoughts & feelings. Most of us have struggled with anxiety, uncertainty and self-doubt; yet we’ve also experienced feeling confident, grounded and secure at one time or another. Then something happened and our self-esteem took a hit; there were setbacks. Bear in mind, our backgrounds and early childhood experiences, our genetic predispositions all serve to shape our personalities and the essence of our being. To that end, as a clinician, I strive to guide individuals to examine their beliefs- in order to gain insight into their potentially self-destructive behavior- or whatever is getting in the way of their progress. Together, we’ll explore what’s influenced your self-concept and self-esteem. The saying that always resonated with me, “If you think you can, or you think you can’t- you’re right…” Life can feel overwhelming & insurmountable, but with the right tools, the sky’s the limit- whatever you’re facing!

Hi, I’m Gwen, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach to therapy is honest, compassionate, and grounded in real life. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can exhale, show up as yourself, and speak openly about what you’re carrying without feeling judged, rushed, or misunderstood. I work with individuals navigating chronic health conditions, substance use, stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, burnout, and the emotional weight that comes with always having to “hold it together.” I also support caregivers and family members managing the emotional strain that can come with loving someone through illness, addiction, mental health challenges, or resistance to care. I understand how overwhelming it can feel when you’re constantly trying to support others while also trying not to lose yourself in the process. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with individuals and families impacted by homelessness, addiction, unstable support systems, medical challenges, and survival mode living. My style is warm, direct, interactive, and down to earth. I’m not the type of therapist who just sits quietly and nods through the session. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation with someone who is present, engaged, and genuinely invested in your growth. In our work together, we’ll focus on understanding patterns, building healthier coping strategies, improving emotional awareness, strengthening boundaries, and creating meaningful change that fits your real life. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, supported, empowered, and better equipped to navigate whatever season of life you’re in.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I use dogs in my office while doing therapy. Please schedule telehealth or advise in advance if you are not comfortable in an office with animals. They do provide therapeutic support to clients and have been part of my practice for some time. I hold licenses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and specialty certification as a Certified Advanced Drug & Alcohol Counselor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I am a firm believer in everything that happens creates the person. I am a whole life counselor and work with people to explore what it would take to move past the difficult times in life. I take the time to get to know my clients and have many clients who have been with me for years. That doesn't mean someone will see me every week for the rest of their life. It means client know I am available when they have need. I do have clients who have seen me weekly for years not because they are dependent on me but because they have found benefit in processing their life regularly. I have had a successful personal practice for years and can offer clients the space and reverence to unpack the most unpleasant things to reorder them in a way they no longer can cause harm as they once did. There is no perfect childhood and it is likely families do the best they can and it may not have filled the needs of their child. I am happy to take as much time as needed to work through the problem as you understand it.

It’s tricky being a person. Talk therapy can help. Life can be complicated. Maybe you're going through a big change, feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts, or wondering why you've been stuck in the same patterns. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to figure it out on your own. Sometimes the ways we've always coped stop working as well as they once did. Therapy can help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. Talk therapy can help by providing a structured space to: Understand patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Work through stress, anxiety, grief, or relationship challenges. Develop coping strategies and communication skills. Explore personal goals, values, and identity. Feel heard by someone trained to listen without judgment. It's not only for crises or mental health diagnoses. Some people use therapy much like they would coaching, education, or preventative healthcare: as a way to better understand themselves and handle life's complexities.

I’m a licensed psychotherapist working with adults who may appear high-functioning on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally unsettled beneath the surface. Many of the individuals I work with are navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, self-doubt, or persistent patterns they can’t quite untangle on their own. My style is thoughtful, steady, and insight-oriented. I integrate practical tools for emotional regulation with deeper exploration of relational patterns and attachment dynamics. I believe therapy should feel both grounding and meaningful — a place where you can slow down, understand yourself more clearly, and begin shifting patterns that no longer serve you. Clients often describe me as calm, direct, and attuned. I aim to create a space that feels safe enough for honesty and structured enough for real change. My work focuses not only on reducing symptoms, but on building emotional clarity, stability, and more secure ways of relating — to others and to yourself. Hi, I’m Demetria Agharese, and I help people who are tired of feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or disconnected from themselves find their way forward. My ideal clients are adults who may look like they have it all together on the outside but are quietly struggling on the inside. You may be the person everyone depends on while privately battling anxiety, intrusive thoughts, OCD, self-doubt, burnout, relationship difficulties, or the pressure to constantly “hold it all together.” Maybe your mind won’t shut off. You overthink every decision, question your feelings, replay conversations, worry about what might happen, or feel trapped by thoughts you wish you could turn off. Maybe you’re navigating a breakup, divorce, major life transition, low self-esteem, or simply wondering, “How did I lose myself?” You don’t have to continue living that way. I offer a warm, genuine, culturally responsive, and judgment-free space where you can put down the weight you’ve been carrying and talk openly about what’s really happening. I don’t believe therapy should feel like sitting across from someone who simply checks boxes on a diagnosis list. I believe you deserve to feel heard, understood, challenged when needed, and supported throughout the process. Using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ERP, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, behavioral strategies, and mindfulness, I help clients break unhelpful cycles, face fears, manage difficult emotions, build confidence, establish healthier boundaries, and become less controlled by anxiety and uncertainty. Most importantly, therapy with me is collaborative. I’m not here to tell you who you should be. I’m here to help you discover who you are, understand what matters to you, and develop the confidence to live accordingly. If you’re ready to stop simply surviving and start creating a life that feels more peaceful, authentic, confident, and meaningful, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

I primarily work with adults, young adults, and adolescents who may be navigating a range of mental health concerns and life challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, adjustment concerns, trauma, grief, familial conflict, and various life transitions. Throughout my career, I have also had opportunities to work with individuals and families impacted by autism spectrum disorder, early intervention (ages 0–3), LGBTQ+ clients, couples, parenting concerns, and academic or school-related challenges. My approach is individualized, and I recognize that every person brings their own unique experiences, strengths, and goals to therapy. In addition to providing clinical services, I also serve as a clinical supervisor, supporting emerging clinicians as they develop their clinical skills, confidence, and professional identity. Hi, I’m Laurie. Are you ready to explore your own inner healing and reconnect with a sense of peace and wholeness? I offer a holistic, mindful, and compassionate approach to therapy that honors the connection between mind, body, and spirit. My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where you can feel seen, understood, and empowered to heal and grow. In our sessions, we’ll bring gentle awareness to the parts of you that are asking for care and attention. You’ll learn strategies to regulate your emotions, nurture self-compassion, and respond to life’s challenges from a more grounded and centered place. If you experience feelings of overwhelm, stress, or emotional dysregulation, therapy can be a supportive environment to process and integrate these emotions without becoming consumed by them. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience as a school social worker supporting children, adolescents, and families. I am also a Certified Mindfulness Facilitator through Copper Beech Institute and hold certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy from The Embody Lab. My approach weaves together mindfulness, somatic awareness, and evidence-based practices to support healing on every level—mind, body, and heart. I believe that when we bring awareness to how our bodies hold emotion and experience, we begin to unravel old patterns and open to a deeper sense of freedom and peace. If you’re seeking a space to reconnect with yourself and move toward healing and wholeness, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

I listen and try to understand your situation and learn what it's like to be you. I can offer suggestions but I won't tell you what to do. I believe that my clients know what they need to do to help them heal, it might not be clear right away but after I am able to understand your problems we can work together to find solutions. It's a big step to seek counseling and to go into therapy. I respect everyone who wants to improve their mental health and well being. It isn't easy to seek help and allow oneself to be vulnerable and share ones' experience. I have listened to thousands of people and I am delighted hear everyone's story to see how I can help.

I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel truly seen, heard, and understood. With more than 25 years of experience as a therapist and wellness professional, I bring a compassionate, down-to-earth, and collaborative approach to helping clients navigate life's challenges particularly around issues with food, diet/binge cycling, body image, self-esteem, and relationships. Clients often tell me they appreciate my warm, genuine style and my ability to balance empathy with practical guidance. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns at your own pace while feeling supported and empowered throughout the process. My work is grounded in the belief that emotional and physical well-being are deeply connected. In addition to my training in social work and psychotherapy, I have specialized training in intuitive eating and functional wellness, which allows me to take a whole-person approach to healing. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-worth, emotional eating, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, I help you uncover the root causes of your challenges while building practical tools for lasting change. I don't believe therapy is about fixing what's wrong with you. Instead, it's about helping you reconnect with your strengths, gain insight into patterns that may be holding you back, and create a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are. We will work through your personalized goals to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and intention. I believe true health is not built through perfection or extremes, but through sustainable habits, self-awareness, and learning how to work with your body instead of against it. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, empowered, and capable of building a healthier, more balanced life that genuinely feels good to maintain.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have been practicing for over 18 years. In my clinical opinion, all therapeutic approaches come from a place of strength, validation and compassion. In my work, I focus on the concerns you feel comfortable sharing while validating your experiences, creating a compassionate and safe space which allows you to effect change and move past pain, loss, trauma and regret. I aim to teach you that the present moment is truly the gift we have, even if it doesn't always feel that way. Our past is behind us, it can neither hurt us any longer nor be changed. We do not know the future, it is not yet visible. Attempting to prepare for what is to come or holding tight to what is no more, takes us away from the present, the moments we have right now, preventing us from embracing the life we dream of. Old messages, hurts and grief often keep us stuck, holding onto a past that will always be a part of who we are, but in no way defines us. We are not "what" we have endured, rather it is the "what" which forged our strengths, awareness and resilience. The story we create is not written by anyone other than ourselves. The truth in life is that we are all good as we are, right now, in this moment. And the beauty in life is that we can grow to be better, no matter what we may have been told, witnessed or lived. You matter, your journey matters, your recovery is what you decide, what you want and I am proud to be a partner to you in this. Even if you select another therapist, remember you are worth it, always.

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Connecticut. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Connecticut from New Haven to Springfield! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Connecticut.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
