I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that something isn't OK right now. That something might be new, or it might have been around a long time. You might be able to describe it perfectly, or you might just feel off without knowing why. Either way — you're here, and that's the only thing that matters right now. I start from wherever you are. No assumptions, no judgments, no one-size-fits-all approach. Just a genuine desire to understand you — what's brought you here, what you're carrying, and what you're hoping for. Therapy with me — whether you're coming alone or with a partner — tends to be honest and occasionally even a little lighthearted. The human experience isn't black and white, and neither is the work we'll do together. What stays consistent is that you'll have a space that belongs to you, where nothing you say or feel changes how I show up for you. For couples, that space belongs to both of you equally. I don't take sides. What I do is help you see the pattern you're both caught in — because most of the time it's the cycle doing the damage, not each other. When that shifts, something else becomes possible. No matter what it is you are navigating — depression, relationships, identity, or the gap between how you show up and how you actually feel inside — you don't have to have it figured out to reach out.

Are you a person of faith seeking to incorporate your beliefs/spiritual practices in your mental health care plan? If you answered yes to any of the questions above, I want you to know that you do not have to manage your problems alone. As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 15 years of experience in faith-based ministries and a Master of Divinity (MDiv), I look forward to creating a welcoming virtual space where you can address barriers and create paths for your mental health and overall wellness. Adults who struggle with self-worth, anxiety, and a sense of self due to conflict with family of origin or adverse childhood experiences. 3. Millenials and GenZers coping with crises related to employment, career, finances, relationships, boundaries, self-care, transitions and the daily demands of “adulting”. 4. Persons whose faith tradition and background have an impact on their wellbeing, decision-making, lifestyle, and mental health. Together, we will assess and prioritize needs, identify goals, create a treatment plan, evaluate progress, celebrate success, and make changes as necessary. I’m Whitney Wilfred, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, but you can call me Whit. I believe therapy can be a space where you no longer have to carry everything alone. I work with adults, particularly women who are used to being the strong one—the nurturer, the achiever, the one everyone depends on—but who may be quietly navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, or feeling disconnected from themselves. My approach is warm, honest, compassionate, and collaborative. I draw from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, and DBT while creating space to explore not only what you’re experiencing, but what may be underneath it. I’m especially passionate about supporting Black and Brown women as they heal, build confidence, strengthen relationships, reconnect with themselves, and move from simply surviving life to living it more fully. And while I’ll bring my clinical experience into the room, I also believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to come alongside you as we make room for healing, growth, and the version of you that may have gotten buried underneath everything you’ve had to carry.

Hi, I'm Ashley, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Reiki II practitioner. I believe that somewhere underneath the anxiety, the self-doubt, and the patterns that keep repeating, there is a version of you that already knows the way. My job isn't to fix you. It's to create a space steady enough that you can actually hear yourself. Together we get curious about the thoughts that won't quiet down, the emotions that feel bigger than the moment, the behaviors that keep showing up even when you don't want them to, and what all of it is actually trying to tell you. I utilize a holistic approach, bringing tools into our work that help you understand what's happening in your mind and body when you're overwhelmed, so you can actually do something about it instead of just surviving it. But more than any method or modality, I show up as a real person walking alongside you, trusting that you are the expert on your own life. If you're ready to listen to that wiser part of yourself and create meaningful change, I'd be honored to walk with you.

Hi, I’m Leila, and I have been practicing therapy within the home and community for over 16 years. I have a warm, transparent and down to earth communication style. If you're here reading this, you are already taking the first step exploring what type of therapist you want for yourself. My specialty is working with people who are in spaces where they feel stuck in a pattern that is no longer serving them, including those related to their mental health and/or substance use. With me, you can expect that together we will focus on building awareness, resources, resiliency and acquiring practical coping skills that will prepare you to do the work on your own when ready. In all my years of research and clinical experience, I have learned that a strong relationship with your therapist will result in higher rates of successfully getting your goals met. In our first session, you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts and questions to determine if working together is a good fit.

Hello, I'm Elizabeth. As a therapist over the last 13 years I have worked with a wide variety of people as an advocate and an ally in helping them heal and grow through the therapy process. Beginning to look for a therapist can bring on anxiety, but know that taking this step is already a major sign of growth. I help work through the chaos inside one's head to identify what are the actual causes of anxiety, stress, and depression. In sessions it can be a time to process emotions, but more importantly, to identify the cause of stressors and what is and is not in your control. I help people learn to set boundaries, work on self-care, and coping skills, and be true to their authentic selves. I have always been an advocate for those that don't feel that their voices are heard including: LGBTQIA+ individuals, TBI survivors, Neurodivergent individuals, parents, college students, healthcare workers, teachers and individuals looking to find their self-worth. My approach starts with a person-centered mindset and by working together we will decide which therapeutic techniques will work best for you as an individual.

Hi, I’m Jenna, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with preteens, teens, young adults, and women who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation, self-esteem, relationships, family dynamics, identity, and major life transitions. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up as your genuine self without feeling like you have to have everything figured out. My approach is warm, supportive, collaborative, and individualized. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work with each client to understand what they need and what will be most helpful for them. In sessions, we may spend time processing emotions and experiences, identifying patterns, building coping skills, working through relationships, setting boundaries, or figuring out practical next steps. I incorporate approaches such as CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, and creative interventions depending on the person and what they are working through. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood, and supported while also helping you build the skills and confidence to navigate life outside of therapy. It’s tricky being a person. Talk therapy can help. Life can be complicated. Maybe you're going through a big change, feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts, or wondering why you've been stuck in the same patterns. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to figure it out on your own. Sometimes the ways we've always coped stop working as well as they once did. Therapy can help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. Talk therapy can help by providing a structured space to: Understand patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Work through stress, anxiety, grief, or relationship challenges. Develop coping strategies and communication skills. Explore personal goals, values, and identity. Feel heard by someone trained to listen without judgment. It's not only for crises or mental health diagnoses. Some people use therapy much like they would coaching, education, or preventative healthcare: as a way to better understand themselves and handle life's complexities.

I create a safe and nonjudgmental space for my clients to explore and process through self-reflection. I have an obligation to help my clients find their inner strengths and empower them to improve their own lives. Life can feel overwhelming at times, and while resilience matters, there are moments when extra support can make a meaningful difference. I work with individuals who feel stuck in unhelpful patterns and are looking for guidance, insight, and practical tools to move forward. In therapy, I help clients build healthy coping skills, strengthen self-esteem, and navigate life transitions. My approach focuses on increasing awareness of thoughts and emotions to better understand challenges and develop effective, lasting solutions. I specialize in working with anxiety, relationship challenges, and substance abuse/misuse.

I’m a warm, collaborative Marriage & Family Therapist dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families feel grounded, understood, and supported. Over the past nine years, I’ve worked across Connecticut’s community mental health system, including adult outpatient services, jail diversion programs, child and family services, extended day treatment, adolescent and adult substance use treatment, intensive in‑home family therapy, and extensive clinical work with service members, Veterans, and first responders. My therapeutic style is integrative and trauma‑informed, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, attachment‑based models, and somatic awareness practices. I help clients reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and build secure, meaningful relationships with themselves and others. I believe healing happens within compassionate, attuned relationships. Clients often share that they feel genuinely seen, supported, and empowered in our work together. Whether you’re navigating trauma, relationship challenges, or life transitions, I offer a safe, steady space for meaningful change.

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC) with more than 22 years of experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, trauma-informed care, and mental health services. My clinical work focuses on helping adults navigate trauma, substance use and recovery, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, grief, life transitions, and challenges related to emotional regulation and overall well-being. My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and integrative, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and mind-body approaches. I'm particularly interested in the connection between mental and physical health, including stress physiology, lifestyle factors, nervous system regulation, metabolic health, and resilience. In my practice through Grow Therapy, I strive to create a collaborative, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work with each client to understand the experiences, patterns, strengths, and goals that are unique to them. Together, we develop practical strategies to promote meaningful change, greater self-awareness, improved coping, and sustainable emotional well-being.

Hi, I'm Julia Kalp. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), providing therapy since 2012, and a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) since 2009. I have worked in the mental health and social services field since 2003. Over the past 22 years, I've worked with clients ranging from preschoolers to older adults, helping people across all stages of life find balance, strength, and emotional clarity. Before beginning outpatient practice, I worked in treatment facilities and provided in-home services to children, adolescents, and families. Those early experiences showed me how deeply our relationships, environments, and early experiences shape who we are—and how much healing becomes possible when people feel safe, understood, and supported. In my work today, I provide outpatient telehealth therapy for individuals, couples, and families. I specialize in addressing mood challenges, anxiety, trauma recovery, attention and impulse control concerns, attachment needs, and stress-related issues. I draw from evidence-based approaches, integrating trauma-informed and strengths-based care tailored to each person's needs. My clients often describe me as calm, compassionate, and easy to talk to. I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative—where we combine your insight and lived experience with my clinical tools to build meaningful change together. Whether you're healing from trauma, navigating anxiety or depression, managing ADHD, or wanting to strengthen relationships, my goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and equipped with practical strategies that fit your life. Above all, I want you to leave therapy feeling more confident, capable, and connected than when you began.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Connecticut. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Connecticut from New Haven to Springfield! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Connecticut.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
