Sarah Q
Hi, I'm Sarah! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who values helping people feel heard, understood, and supported. My approach is warm, compassionate, and person-centered. I strive to create a space where you can show up as you are, without judgment, and explore challenges such as anxiety, grief, and life transitions.
A space to feel heard, explore what you're going through, and find a way forward at your own pace.
Together, we'll build on your strengths, develop greater self-understanding, and identify a path forward that feels right for you.
First session
Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll discuss your current concerns, what you hope to gain from counseling, and what support may be most helpful. You don't need to know exactly where to begin. Together, we'll identify a starting point for our work and begin developing goals that reflect your needs and priorities.
Strengths
I bring empathy, patience, curiosity, and a nonjudgmental approach to my sessions. I value building a genuine therapeutic relationship and meeting each client where they are, rather than expecting them to fit a particular mold. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, allowing space for reflection, honest conversation, and exploration at a pace that feels comfortable. I believe clients are the experts on their own lives, and my role is to help them gain insight, recognize their strengths, and work toward changes that feel meaningful to them.
Ideal clients
I work best with adults navigating anxiety, grief and loss, or changes in their relationships and life circumstances. My ideal clients may be feeling overwhelmed, adjusting to a new chapter, or trying to understand patterns that affect their well-being. I enjoy helping clients make sense of their experiences, reconnect with their strengths, and find practical ways to navigate everyday challenges.
Treatment methods
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and respected. I work collaboratively with clients to explore their experiences, identify their goals, and build on their existing strengths. I believe the therapeutic relationship is an important part of helping clients develop self-understanding and navigate challenges at their own pace.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use cognitive behavioral strategies to help clients explore the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we can identify patterns that contribute to distress, consider alternative perspectives, and develop practical ways to respond to everyday challenges. Strategies are tailored to each client's needs, goals, and readiness for change.
Strength-Based
I take a strengths-based approach by helping clients recognize their existing abilities, resilience, and resources, even during difficult periods. Rather than focusing only on problems, we explore what has helped them cope, what matters to them, and how they can build on their strengths to navigate challenges and work toward meaningful goals.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing principles to help clients explore their feelings about change, identify what matters most to them, and recognize their own reasons for moving forward. Through open-ended questions, reflective listening, and collaboration, I support clients in exploring options without feeling pressured or judged.
