New to Grow
I am a licensed clinical social worker with 5 years of clinical experience supporting individuals with significant behavioral and mental health difficulties. I have experience working with adolescents and adults with eating disorders in PHP and IOP settings, children with behavioral health challenges in a residential setting, and adults who are dually diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders in an outpatient setting. As a provider I am committed to bringing all of my clinical experience and an open mind to each session to work with every individual in all of their uniqueness.
During session, I will offer a broad and collaborative exploration of circumstances and relate items of note to goals and plans for treatment set during previous sessions. I will invite the patient to lead that exploration at times, and I will also lead when appropriate. At times I may encourage clients to do activities outside of session and return to discuss information gathered or outcomes of those activities.
I am open minded and flexible with my approach to treatment.
I am equipped to support patients who are experiencing difficulties with respect to anxiety, depression, substance use and other challenging behaviors. My goal will be to help individuals with desire for a change plan meaningfully to bring what they want into reality. Common goals may include reduction in frequency or intensity of symptoms but could also be full remission of symptoms.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is the backbone of most contemporary approaches to treatment where the provider explores relationship between thoughts, behavior and feelings. The goal would be to make intentional changes to one or more dimension to create some desired effect to the other dimensions. In practice this would look like first developing a perspective that allows the individual to notice and observe their experience of each thoughts, feelings and behavioral urges and their precedents or triggers.
