I am a compassionate, empathic therapist that seeks to empower clients to find tools to help ground, center and return back to themselves. I believe clients know themselves and what they have experienced, and hope for in the future most of all and wish to help them navigate back to their own inner wisdom and truth. I help clients built a skillset for them to use in future when they no longer need or wish to come to therapy and help client identify triggers and coping skills, explore gifts and need areas and reprocess painful stressors from their past.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the initial session I will review policies and procedures, share my background and then ask questions to understand what brings you to therapy, history of symptoms and background information on family, health and past stressors/trauma. I also like to explore client's strengths, needs areas and goals they seek to work on in sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my greatest strengths are connecting with each individual and meeting them where they are at, identify with clients their goals and objectives, creating tailored treatment plans and providing education, resources, tools and practices to help client move through difficult emotions, explore blocks in their lives and identify and move towards the life they desire.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I have been practicing EMDR for the last 3.5 years and have helped clients process past and recent trauma, life stressors and negative beliefs that impact their day to day lives. EMDR has helped clients integrate difficult memories which have caused issues in their current lives. Clients often report doing EMDR had a positive influence on current relationship dynamics, self esteem, reducing fears around specific issues and addressing obstacles in their lives. I also have trained in using IFS and EMDR and use parts work to help identify target memories and bring more healing to the whole system.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT with client for the last 5 years and believe it is a staple in helping clients identify, challenge and reframe unhelpful thought patterns and behavior that have not been serving them. CBT has been useful for my clients with symptoms of anxiety, depression, mood disorders and OCD and is a tool individuals can use on their own throughout their lives.

Mind-body approach

I take a holistic approach in working with each individual and believe the mind and body are not separate. I encourage clients to look at both physical and mental health to identify how movement, nutrition, physical tension and environment along with emotional tension or trauma and negative beliefs systems play a role in health and healing. I have trained in many forms of mind/body and somatic therapies including yoga, meditation, fascia stretching and qi gong. I incorporated somatic exercises, mindfulness practices, and visualizations to help increase clients connection with their body and release built up stress.

Narrative

I have training in Narrative theory and encourage client's to understand the stories that influence them most and the underlying dominate narratives that influence their own beliefs and goals that they have for themselves.

Grief Therapy

I have trained in grief movement therapy, which has been helpful for clients to explore and release anger, sadness, confusion, loneliness and anxiety around the loss they have experienced. I also use supportive reflection, EMDR and heart centered presence to help client's navigate through the many stages of grief.
