New to Grow
I'm an older African-American male with more than 35 years of clinical experience. I've back"been told, I'm "laid back and easy to talk to". I've have worked with young children to elders in their 80's and 90's. I have worked with disabled person, care givers to the disable and elders. I have personally cared for disabled elders. I'm still learning clinical skills and doing my best to keep up with digital tech.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Besides asking the usual intake questions, I will ask such things as "what do you enjoy doing for fun". "do you get support from religion, family, friends or some other purpose in your life". Lastly, I often ask and often answer if you have any questions about me.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I I'm patience, have a relaxed manner, and focus on your therapy goals. I'm willing to research and provide information that I don't have direct knowledge of in the form that you will most likely to find useful to you.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who have some ideas and insights into there goals and are willing to work on skills to reach them. I'm also flexible enough to work with clients that need someone to talk to about their concerns and may just want support and a sounding board to note if their concerns and goals are reasonable.
