Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. My greatest passion is bringing healing to people who have been through traumatic and stressful events. I am passionate about taking an integrative approach to therapy, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma informed, experiential and person centered techniques to treat the whole person and ensure that what is done in therapy is personalized, collaborative and unique to each client. My therapeutic approach is based on the belief that clients are in charge of their counseling experience. I have experience working with both teenagers, adults, and couples in outpatient settings, working in partnership with clients to utilize their strengths to help them sort out their challenges and achieve their goals. I acquired my Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling and then Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Post University. I view the counseling process as an alliance between both client and therapist and consider the client as the expert of their lives. Within the structure of the therapeutic relationship, clients can access their inner strengths and promote change. I hope to work with you soon!
In our first session together, we will work on creating a therapeutic rapport and building trust within the relationship. You can expect a laid-back, non judgmental atmosphere. We will review basic, HIPAA policies, informed consents and attendance policies.
Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable.
