I have helped clients tackle a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, addiction, and PTSD. Ive worked with a wide range of clients- from adults to elementary age children. I believe in the power of talk therapy. I utilize CBT methods and Motivational Interviewing in my sessions. I provide a warm, friendly environment and have a natural ability to connect with others on a therapeutic level. I have had many life experiences, which provide me with the empathy and understanding necessary for good social work. I am a positive, forward thinker, who will help set attainable goals to reach your best self. I am open to all needs from all people. I have zero tolerance for any hate or discrimination. I understand how hard it can be to take the first step and to begin this process. I am here to support, help and guide you through your thoughts, feelings and beyond. I also love to laugh and have fun while building the therapeutic process. I look forward to meeting you!
First session
My hope for first time clients is that they leave sessions feeling a sense of relief, feeling grounded and validated. I strive to provide a safe, relaxed environment that grows respect and understanding with the ultimate goal of empowerment and hope.
Strengths
We all have life experiences that change us in some way. I believe in drawing from my personal experiences as a means to show empathy and connection with a client. I normalize stressors through shared feelings and the therapeutic process that follows. I will challenge a thought if it is clinically appropriate and promotes deeper understanding. I am highly skilled at moving through a difficult discussion, but ensuring that a session ends in a positive, forward thinking place. Humor helps!
Ideal clients
My ideal client is an adult who is navigating average life stressors with a strong awareness of their mental health. My ideal client would come with an agenda, and an understanding that this is their process, and I am here for support and guidance if clinically appropriate. My ideal client would thrive in a warm, low- pressure and collaborative space.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Through our discussion, we will pay attention to the patterns that your brain automatically falls into when you are feeling stressed or down. We can test if those thoughts are actually helping you, or not, and find a more balanced, grounded way to process so you feel less stuck.
