I'm Jodeci Oquendo and I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor based in North Carolina and Connecticut.
My experience in outpatient, intensive in-home, and telehealth services has allowed me to meet clients from many different walks of life and support them through both everyday stressors and more complex challenges.
First session
Our first session together will consist of brief introductions and diving into specific concerns you are currently experiencing. During this process, we will also explore goals and create a tailored plan to refer to in follow up sessions. I open this space for any questions and answers you may have to ensure you are feeling fully supported about your needs being met.
Strengths
My greatest strength is how warm and engaging I am throughout the process. My authenticity and genuineness allows me to create meaningful therapeutic relationships with my clients, and bringing a sense of comfort and normalcy to therapy. Starting therapy can often feel intimidating and uncomfortable. I will always meet you where you are in the moment. I take pride in ensuring my clients are always feeling heard, understood, and empowered in a safe, nonjudgmental space.
Ideal clients
You may be feeling stuck or unsure of where you “should” be in life. Maybe you’re struggling to navigate relationships, make long-term personal or professional decisions, or adjust to a major life transition. These experiences can lead to anxiety, depression, low motivation, and increased stress about what the future may hold. Carrying all of that on your own can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Together, we can create space to process, heal, and normalize not having everything figured out.
Treatment methods
Eclectic
I use an integrative approach in the therapy process by incorporating more than one treatment approach to meet the individual needs of my clients. Utilizing multiple treatment methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Treatment and Person-Centered, I am able to support my clients with gaining self-awareness, insight, improve self-expression, finding interpersonal solutions, and achieving their personalized goals. The therapy process is collaborative, however you are the expert. I will join alongside in your journey to facilitate self-discovery, and empower you to achieve self-acceptance in your healing and positive growth.
