Congratulations on taking the first steps to a healthier you. My name is Wendy and I am Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience. I believe the relationship with a client should be one that is filled with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. I utilize methods such as positive psychology and Solution-Focused Therapy styles along with motivational interviewing. This approach allows for you to be empowered to solve your own problems using your own abilities. This is a goal oriented approach to problem solving that often allows you to see the change you are looking for sooner. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, but above all, I believe in meeting you where you are and supporting you every step of the way. I work with adults, adolescents and children. I am glad you have taken the first steps towards making a change in your life and I hope I can help you on your path towards a happier, healthier, you. When you are ready, I am here to support you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will get to know each other a bit and then learn more about what challenges you are facing and why you have decided to engage in therapy. This will help us work on a plan for future sessions and help you reach your identified goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Some areas that I am more specialized in include: Depression, Coping with life changes, Life Coaching, ADHD, Family Issues, Body Image, Communication Problems, Forgiveness, Guilt and Shame, Life Purpose, Money and Financial Issues, OCD, Self-Love, Social Anxiety and Phobia, Women's Issues, Workplace Issues, Career difficulties, Young Adult Issues

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT can be used to help people learn to control their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT can help people deal with problems more positively by breaking them down into smaller parts and changing negative patterns.

Positive Psychology

Positive psychology exercises and interventions can help clients become more self-aware and identify their positive traits, talents, and strengths. These strategies will hopefully increase the client's positive emotions and build hope and well-being.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-focused therapy, is a goal-oriented and collaborative type of therapy that focuses on finding solutions to current problems. Clients are the experts on their own lives and have the resources and skills to solve their own problems. The therapist's role is to provide support, guidance, and structure to help the client find and implement solutions.
