I’m a therapist who supports adults who carry a lot—people who often feel like the steady one for everyone else while quietly feeling overwhelmed or disconnected inside. I show up in therapy with warmth, grounding, and a calm presence, and I want this space to feel like somewhere you can finally slow down, breathe, and be fully yourself. As a queer therapist, a military spouse, and a former minister, I understand what it’s like to navigate identity, belonging, faith transitions, and the pressure to stay strong during major life changes. I provide culturally sensitive and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and I’m experienced supporting military service members, veterans, and the loved ones who share the emotional load alongside them. I’m here to walk with you as you explore who you are, heal old patterns, build healthier boundaries, and create a life and relationships that feel more grounded, honest, and sustainable.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take things at a comfortable pace. I’ll ask about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been carrying lately, and what you hope will feel different in your life or relationships. You don’t need to have everything figured out—just showing up is enough. We’ll talk about your background, the stressors you’re facing now, and any patterns you’ve noticed, but you’re always in control of what you choose to share. This session is also a chance for you to get a feel for me and make sure I’m the right fit. My style is warm, steady, and collaborative, so I’ll check in with you throughout to make sure you feel grounded and supported. We’ll explore what’s been weighing on you, begin clarifying your goals, and talk about what therapy with me typically looks like. By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of the direction we’re heading and the next steps we’ll take together—at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes my work unique is the combination of lived experience, genuine curiosity, and a calm, steady presence. Clients often tell me they feel understood in a way they haven’t before. I’m not here to judge or diagnose your humanity—I’m here to walk with you through the layers of what you’ve been carrying and help you make sense of it with compassion and clarity. As a queer therapist, a military spouse, and a former minister, I bring a nuanced understanding of identity, belonging, spirituality, transitions, and the pressure to “hold it all together.” I know what it’s like to sit at the intersections of faith, culture, service, and authenticity, and that helps me meet clients with a depth of empathy that feels grounding rather than overwhelming. My greatest strengths include helping clients slow down, get curious about their inner world, and untangle patterns that keep them stuck—especially overfunctioning, people-pleasing, burnout, and relationship stress. I’m skilled at creating a space where you can be fully yourself, express complicated emotions, and explore your identity without fear of judgment. I offer a balance of reflection, warmth, and practical tools. I help clients build insight and take action, so the growth you experience in therapy becomes something you can actually feel in your daily life and relationships.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who has spent a long time being the strong one—emotionally steady, responsible, and dependable—and is just now giving themselves permission to slow down and look inward. They’re thoughtful and self-aware but often carry more than they admit. They show up for their job, their family, or their community, yet inside they feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or disconnected from their own needs. They might be navigating anxiety, relationship stress, burnout, or unresolved trauma. Many are exploring their identity in deeper ways—untangling old beliefs, healing from the pressure to overfunction, or sorting through cultural, family, or spiritual messages that shaped who they thought they had to be. They might also be LGBTQI+ or part of a community where they’ve had to code‑switch, stay quiet, or shrink parts of themselves. Some are veterans, active‑duty service members, or loved ones who have carried the invisible weight of military life. My ideal client wants therapy to feel like a calm, grounded space where nothing about them is “too much.” They’re not looking for quick advice—they’re looking to understand themselves, build healthier boundaries, and create relationships that feel more honest and supportive. They want to feel more connected, more centered, and more at home in themselves. This client is ready—maybe for the first time—to stop surviving on autopilot and start building a life that feels sustainable, authentic, and emotionally safe. And they’re looking for a therapist who can walk with them through that shift with warmth, curiosity, and a practical, steady presence.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT as a foundation to help you understand your thoughts, emotions, and relationship patterns in a clear, practical way. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded—I want therapy to feel like a space where you can finally slow down, be honest, and not have to “hold it all together.” I also integrate trauma‑informed care, mindfulness, emotional regulation skills, and systems perspectives. Many clients I work with are exploring the impact of family expectations, cultural messages, and past religious or spiritual communities. If you're navigating religious trauma, deconstruction, guilt, or pressure from rigid beliefs, I hold space for that with respect and sensitivity. I see adults dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship stress, identity questions, and trauma. A lot of my clients are high‑functioning and responsible—they take care of everyone else, stay productive, and look “fine” on the outside, but feel overwhelmed or exhausted underneath. Overfunctioning is common, and therapy helps you understand why it shows up and how to shift into a healthier way of living. In our work, you can expect reflection, support, and practical tools you can use right away. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, set healthier boundaries, and build a life—and relationships—that feel more authentic, connected, and sustainable.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I often integrate an Internal Family Systems (IFS)–informed approach into therapy. This means we explore the different “parts” of you that show up in moments of stress, relationships, conflict, or decision‑making. Many clients notice parts that overwork, overfunction, shut down, avoid conflict, or carry old fears or guilt—especially those connected to family expectations, cultural messages, or past spiritual or religious experiences. In IFS‑informed work, we get curious about these parts instead of judging them. Each part developed for a reason, usually to protect you or help you survive something difficult. By understanding these inner roles with compassion, you can create more balance within yourself and make choices that come from a grounded, centered place rather than automatic reactions. IFS allows clients to slow down, notice what’s happening inside, and build a stronger relationship with themselves. It’s especially helpful for people who feel torn between different roles, feel like they’re carrying too much, or struggle with guilt, perfectionism, or emotional exhaustion. Using this approach, therapy becomes a space where you can reconnect with the calmer, more authentic part of you and move through life with more clarity and confidence.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I offer culturally sensitive and identity‑affirming care that respects who you are and where you come from. I’m experienced in supporting LGBTQI+ clients, as well as military service members, veterans, and the loved ones who share the weight of military life. My focus is on creating a space where your background, identity, and lived experiences are understood, valued, and integrated into the work we do together.
