About me

Dr. Cunningham is an integrated clinician, meaning her approach is shaped by what will actually support your progress in therapy. Her style may shift between therapist, coach, or teacher, with clear boundaries that keep the work focused and effective. Her work is rooted in: • CBT • DBT • Trauma-informed care • Mindfulness • Faith-based therapy She provides care that is culturally aware with the grounded understanding of different lived experiences. Her focus is supporting clients to move from insight into action - so they’re justly understanding their patterns and actually interrupting them. Outside of sessions, she enjoys singing, creative writing, playing sports, lifting weights, and traveling.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I will ask you several importang questions. What brings you to therapy? What is your mental health/substance use history? Do you have any medical conditions? What is your family history, specifically mental health, medical and substance use? Are you currently or previously taken any medication? What is your heritage, culture, religion or spiritual practice?

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I integrate clinical research, lived experience and practical wisdom. The therapeutic alliance is most important to me because clients are more likely to meet their goals, if they connect with their therapist.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are struggling with relational concerns, grief and loss and/or compassion fatigue due to personal and/or professional reasons. I prefer the client start therapy with the mindset of increasing awareness, ready for change and behavioral activation. The client may ask questions while navigating his healing journey to understand and feel safe through the therapeutic process.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Every relationship is foundationally what you are willing to accept and commit to. Longevity of the relationship includes negotiating those terms and renegotiating as you change because of age, life stages and life circumstances.
