Do you struggle with motivation and focus troubles that affects more than just your ability to get your homework done? Do you feel overwhelmed by basic tasks that you can’t seem to get started? Do you ever wonder that life could be better, your mind a little quieter? Now more than ever, young adults are feeling overwhelmed with the life presented to them. I believe you can find the motivation to get control of your life again. I work primarily with young adults with ADHD and Anxiety and use a person first approach to therapy. We will start with learning how your struggles manifest uniquely in your life. I then will help you by offering behavioral change tools while also working on the deeper ‘why’ that brings you to treatment. I strive to offer a safe, nonjudgmental, and open place, so you can get the help you need.
In our first session we would get to know each other through a basic intake. This consists of introductory questions that captures the entirety of who you are and the multiple layers of situations and life events that may be impacting you and your ability to work towards your goals. Once this is completed, we will touch base on your goals in therapy, with subsequent sessions spent working towards making these goals obtainable, and ultimately meeting them.
I find a balance of tools and validation are the key to creating the deep change people come to therapy for. I listen thoughtfully and openly, while offering both concrete tools and insight to help create a shift - both in the immediate and long term.
If you are struggling with motivation, focus, attention, and procrastination issues, I am here to help you work through it. Often these symptoms are coupled with layers of anxiety, depression, self doubt, and/or self esteem issues. Overall, someone who is desiring a space to work on deepening their insight to themselves, while balancing that with behavioral change, would be a good fit to my therapy practice.
I approach all my clients from a humansitic/person centered modality of treatment. This allows you to be the expert on your lived experiences as we work towards you living life to your full potential and thriving.
DBT Skills are a great way to work on behavioral change while still being flexible enough for the uniqueness of each client.
