Rebecca McWhorter, LCSW # 87376 I have experience working with individuals across all age groups and within diverse multicultural settings. I begin by meeting clients where they are, whether they are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or grief. My practice is centered on compassionate, client-focused care. My journey began working with at-risk youth prior to college, which inspired me to continue outreach with individuals and groups facing significant challenges. This path ultimately led me to the field of Social Work. Through Telehealth, I have been able to expand my practice into new areas, taking on challenges that continue to drive my passion for this work.

Hi, I’m Valerie Harris-Reamer. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Do you turn to food, alcohol, or drugs to deal with feeling lonely or rejected, or to cope with added stress and anxiety? Have you lost the joyful feelings that you used to have in life? Do you feel fear-stricken, even in the “comfort” of your own home? Do you feel like there are so many things to manage and your forever-growing “to-do list” leaves you feeling completely overwhelmed? I work with women who have experienced tough stuff in their childhood and feel like they have lost their way. Sometimes we turn to food, alcohol, and drugs or, we withdraw from friends and family, just to cope. Does this sound like you? These coping skills affecting our lives as adults often stem from hurts that happened during childhood and were never healed. My goal is to help you stop engaging in patterns that started from what you learned as a way of survival. You will get encouragement and a toolbox of practical actions you need to find your way to living your best life. I believe that you are worthy of love and care. I believe that therapy should address the whole person – their mind, body, and spirit. I believe that loving and accepting ourselves for who we are, scars and all, is one of the most courageous things we can do. Start making yourself a priority and begin enjoying your life. Let's do this!

If you're the kind of person who overthinks everything and feels things deeply — and finds yourself people pleasing, having a hard time telling others no, and worries about whether your important relationships are okay — I get it, and I'd love to help. I'm Elizabeth, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker working with women who keep bumping into the same painful patterns: shrinking themselves, second-guessing their instincts, staying too long, leaving too fast, or feeling disconnected from who they actually are underneath it all. Usually those patterns trace back further than we think — to early relationships and family dynamics that taught us, long before we had words for it, how to survive and keep connections. My approach blends depth-oriented, relational, and attachment-based work with EMDR, which I've found to be one of the most powerful tools for actually shifting what's stuck — not just talking about it, but helping your nervous system finally let go of what it's been holding onto. I'll also draw on CBT and DBT when they're useful, but EMDR is a big part of how I like to work these days, especially for anything that feels more stored in the body than the mind. If most of these words are new for you, that's okay, I'd be happy to explain what they are. Therapy with me is warm, real, and collaborative. I'm not going to sit back neutrally and nod — I'll be present with you, ask good questions, and gently push when pushing is what's needed. My hope is that you leave our work together not just understanding your patterns, but actually feeling different in your body and your relationships. I particularly love working with moms and young women who have just graduated college.

Hi, my name is Wisdom and I am a LCSW. I have 7+s years as a therapist and became licensed in 2023. I received my undergraduate degree in 2013 from UCSB and my MSW in 2018 from CSUSM. I am certified in (C-DBT) , Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I believe that trauma, that is unprocessed and/or not fully integrated, can become stored in our bodies and lead to somatic, body, and/or emotional "tor-mentors" (Schwartz, 2023). As such, I utilize Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM), such as massage therapy, acupuncture, meditation, and yoga, in therapy sessions and/or bridge outside connections to these resources. I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed clinician and apply parts work in sessions that helps illuminate segments of ourself that holds onto certain burdens. Navigating through life can be quite complicated, though whether you choose to Accept this or not can allow room for Change or continued suffering.

Couples: I am TAKING Couples again. However only on Cash Pay basis. This is how it will work: You can schedule with me an hour consultation, you don't both have to be present, for this Consultation. From there we will meet 5 to 6 times for 1.5 hour sessions. It is very difficult to have Couples sessions within 60 min. The Cash pay is $250.00 for the 1.5 hour sessions. I understand the cost can be a deterrent in seeking help, however if you are both committed to doing the work 5 to 6 sessions should be productive and enough to see changes. Individuals: Of course I am still taking individuals that are or are not in a relationship and need help. We were never taught how to be in a relationship of any kind. Yes there are tons of books of how to, however to put them to practical use can be very difficult. This can also relate to a relationship with a family member, friends or co-workers. Sometimes our own mental health can influence all of our relationships, and you may need coping techniques for anxiety and or depression type symptoms. I will work with you individually to help you gain insight to your own behavior that may be influencing your relationship. I am here to help with coping strategies for anxiety and depression symptoms or learning how to communicate more effectively with others.

I believe that even in the middle of a crisis, there is a real opportunity for growth. My path began in the theater and the study of Method Acting. This discipline focuses on how internal experience drives outward behavior. I apply this "inside-out" perspective to help you align your internal reality with your external actions. My way of working has evolved over time. I attended top universities and training programs. I was mentored by experts in the origins of trauma, addictions, and relationship difficulties. This foundation allowed me to build a successful group practice in Orange County. During that time, I taught at UC Irvine, chaired the Professional Practice Committee of the Orange County Psychological Association, and sat on its Board of Directors. In the midst of this success, I experienced a personal crisis and divorce. This led me on my own journey of growth. I began an extensive study of Buddhism and meditation which now guides how I live. I spent seven years living in Asia, where I studied with monks and cared for villagers. What I offer now is an integration of strong academic training and Eastern teachings. My decision to become a psychologist grew from a desire to relieve suffering and transform challenges into opportunities for growth. I combine empirical psychological methods with the cultivation of an "awakened heart"—a state of genuine presence and social connection. I work to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be

Marriage & Family Therapist | Couples Counseling | Postpartum & First-Time Parent Support The transition into parenthood can place unexpected strain on even strong relationships. Many couples experience increased conflict, emotional distance, or difficulty communicating after the birth of a child. First-time parents may also struggle with anxiety, overwhelm, identity shifts, and symptoms of postpartum depression or anxiety that feel isolating or hard to name. I specialize in working with couples and first-time parents navigating relationship stress and postpartum mental health challenges. I support clients through this transition by helping them strengthen communication, rebuild emotional safety, and develop practical tools that support both individual well-being and long-term relationship health. Clients often come to therapy feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward together. In our work, we slow things down, identify unhelpful patterns, and build skills for emotional regulation, clearer communication, and deeper connection — both individually and as a couple.

I’m a California-licensed therapist with over 16 years of experience working with high-achieving adults, neurodivergent individuals, and BIPOC women who are doing a lot on the outside and quietly struggling on the inside. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, depression, executive dysfunction, chronic illness, and the complicated weight of navigating life when your brain and body don’t always cooperate. My approach is integrative and whole-person — meaning I don’t just treat symptoms, I work with the full picture of who you are. That includes your nervous system, your story, your cultural context, your relationships, and the survival strategies you built long before you ever walked into a therapy room. I draw from Person-Centered, Attachment, Psychodynamic, Existential-Humanistic, Multicultural, and Transpersonal frameworks, and I weave in somatic tools like breathwork, mindfulness, and mind-body practices because healing doesn’t just happen in the mind. I also bring lived experience to this work. I navigate my own ADHD, chronic illness, and the ongoing practice of regulating a nervous system that doesn’t always want to cooperate. I haven’t just studied these tools — I’ve needed them. That’s what I bring into the room with you. I accept you as you are, where you are. Always.

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and I believe therapy should be a place where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported without judgment. I work with individuals who are navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, and the challenges that life can sometimes bring. My goal is to create a space where you can talk openly about what you’re going through and feel safe exploring your thoughts and feelings. My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a person-centered style, which means we work together to better understand your experiences while also building practical tools to help you cope, grow, and move forward. I also have experience working with military members and veterans, and I recognize the unique experiences and stressors that can come with military life and transitions. Welcome! I am a licensed therapist providing compassionate and supportive therapy to adults and couples. I work with individuals who may be experiencing depression, low motivation, anxiety, excessive worry, stress, past trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and other challenges that may impact their emotional well-being. Therapy can provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to talk openly about your experiences and concerns. My approach is collaborative and focused on helping you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical tools to navigate life's challenges. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply looking for support during a difficult time, you do not have to work through it alone. Together, we can identify your strengths, develop healthy coping strategies, improve communication and relationships, and work toward goals that are meaningful to you. I believe that therapy is a process of growth and that each person's journey is unique. My goal is to meet you where you are, provide support and guidance, and help you build greater confidence, self-awareness, and emotional well-being.

Jungian therapy will look at the relationship of your “self” to your experiences and look at problems as a symptom of something deeper. Whether it be a thought or perception, dream, belief, value or current relationship that brings you to therapy, we'll look for what messages are coming to you from within. Tapping into your own creativity, we can use myth and metaphor, poetry, dreams, literature and art to explore your relationship to the problem.

We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Yes! If you use Blue Shield you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Blue Shield you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
