“What one person has to offer to another, is their own being, nothing more, nothing less” – Ram Dass.
My therapeutic approach is a strength-based perspective that focuses on a person’s innate potential rather than pathologies and shortfalls. Consistent with this approach, my role as a therapist lies not in solving problems but in helping clients examine inhibited issues and biases, identify practical solutions to their problems and progress toward deeper wisdom.
I have worked with adults, children and families. This experience has included clients of various ethnicities and addressed a range of mental health issues, interpersonal relationship problems, and life transitions. I draw on my experience of 15 years in travel journalism and Corporate America and this understanding helps me support my clients as they navigate the stress and success in their place of work, endure layoffs, reevaluate priorities, and make renewed efforts towards new beginnings.
My therapeutic style is adaptive to the individual needs of my clients. I believe the process of change is an ongoing dialogue. This process can be brief or longer term, depending upon the needs of the client. Sometimes I use mindfulness techniques to supplement therapy.
Having a hard time getting through the day? Struggling to cope in areas that others make look "Easy"? I have years of personal, professional and social experience in helping people who feel this way. As a clinician I focus on mindfulness and internal growth. My mission is to reach as many people as possible who may be suffering in silence and/or don't feel heard. I hope that through strong professional support my clients can make and achieve their goals. My desire is to assist those who work with me in living their best emotionally healthy lives.
Welcome! If you are struggling with daily stressors, the state of the world or traumatic experiences, I welcome you to contact me to explore how I can support and help in your healing.
Therapy is a space dedicated to exploring your life and mind with the hope of something brighter and lighter. It is to alleviate that tension that may have been weighing you down for some time.
I see the therapeutic space as a puzzle that begins with the pieces you put on the table but slowly comes together, through our work, to see the final clearer image. As your therapist, I will help empower and guide you towards unlocking tools to improve your mental well-being.

I am passionate about the impact of spirituality in mental health therapy. As an attachment informed humanist LPCC, I consider the bio-psycho-social-spiritual/existential condition of the folks with whom I work. Healing is a matter of integrating the disparate and fragmented parts of life. Empathy, acceptance, positive regard, and genuineness are crucial elements for effective therapy and these are the characteristics I seek to cultivate in my practice. As far as a specific toolkit, CBT and Motivational Interviewing are the primary evidence based methodologies I employ to be with people in their self-paced, goal oriented healing efforts. Those who want to examine the angst, anxiety, disquiet, and friction in their lives will find a fellow traveler in me.

It's easy to overlook our need for self-care when we're busy taking care of other aspects of our lives. Our priorities often revolve around work and our family's well-being, leaving us at the bottom of our list. My aim is to encourage self-determination through therapy. During our therapeutic relationship, we will work together to achieve your goals and find new ways to overcome obstacles and crises. We'll collaborate on identifying your strengths, as it's important to recognize how your current mindset and decisions are impacting the challenges you face in life.

Hi! My name is Crystal Villanueva and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Southern California and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I have 14 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, couples, and children experiencing the challenges of anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, relationship challenges, and intimate partner violence.
My approach to therapy is grounded in the spirit of Humanistic therapy. Humanistic Therapy is based on the core belief that people are good at heart and capable of making the right choices for themselves. In therapy, this belief leads me to focus on each individual’s unique point of view and how this view can impact their choices. It further emphasizes the importance of being our authentic selves to live the most fulfilling life. I strive to create a safe environment to help clients feel comfortable to express their thoughts/emotions. I am genuine, friendly, nonjudgmental, empathetic, and interactive. I believe I am easy to talk to as I am casual in my style, but direct and focused when it comes to our work together.
My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own therapy that I received as a youth and young adult; it was life-changing. I worked with a therapist that was completely accepting and non-judgmental of my faults/shortcomings and helped me work past and accept them. Because of this experience, I wanted to give back and provide the same nonjudgment safe space, and acceptance to others.

Hello, I’m Dr. C. Steffanie
I was born and raised in California, and my Christian faith has been a steady shaping force in both my life and work. My graduate training at a Christian university, along with an independent Christian Counseling program, has allowed me to integrate academics with Biblical truth. As an LMFT, I offer both Christian Counseling and secular individual therapy, honoring each client’s values and preferences.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in a relational/psychodynamic framework, integrating Biblical principles and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore their inner world with honesty and hope, drawing strength from faith, as desired. I am deeply present during sessions. To support my level of presence, I exclusively use Grow Therapy’s confidential, HIPAA‑compliant platform and its associated AI summarization/transcription program. Clients who choose me need to consent to using the platform and AI Transcriber. I provide weekly sessions to facilitate meaningful therapeutic growth.
My practice is fully virtual/telehealth and adheres to best‑practice standards to ensure timely, consistent, and high‑quality care. I maintain specific policies that define the scope of services provided. I do not write letters or complete documentation (including but not limited to ESA, FMLA, IHSS, SSI, housing, or stress‑leave documentation). Additionally, due to safety considerations and the limitations of a virtual‑only setting, my practice does not provide treatment for the following symptoms or conditions: psychotic disorders, primary eating disorders, primary substance use/abuse, obsessive‑compulsive disorder (OCD), dementia, pain management, active suicidal or homicidal ideation, or frequent mental‑health emergencies. These policies are in place to ensure clients receive care that is clinically appropriate and aligned with the level of support they require. If your needs fall outside this scope, I will provide a referral to a provider or setting equipped to meet those needs.
Pleased to meet you! I provide individual telehealth therapy to adult clients within the state of California. If you are experiencing symptoms of trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, family or relationship issues, or enduring a difficult life transition, I would love the opportunity to hear your story and support you. Carrying our pain without addressing it may not only make life less satisfying, but it can take a toll on other aspects of our health. Mental health IS health, and therapy can be medicinal for untangling the mind and heart.
I applaud you with taking the first step in exploring seeking therapy! Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

One of the primary benefits of therapy is emotional support and validation. I encompass a therapeutic, non judgmental, safe space for clients to express themselves freely. I foster a sense of comfort, empathy, and compassion while helping clients navigate their emotions and gain fresh perspective.
Therapy serves as a tool for self exploration. By engaging in meaningful introspective exercises clients will develop healthier coping tools, leading to personal growth.

I'm Kristen LCSW & I've spent decades helping others navigate through the difficult times in their life.
My career started in the mid-2000's as a Special Ed teacher at an all boys' residential behavior mod program, when after about 5yrs I realized that education was the surface of their issues and that I wanted to become a therapist. Which is what I did. Went to Rutgers grad school, worked 5yrs prison re-entry, then 5yrs dual dx IOP, before moving into my current role in private practice.
