I specialize in working with individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approach is client-centered and collaborative, tailored to your unique needs, goals, and pace. You'll find a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be your authentic self. Becoming a social worker is a commitment to walking alongside others through their most difficult moments. My path began volunteering at a shelter, where I witnessed the power of listening and advocacy. Each experience has affirmed that social work is where I belong: helping people through their healing journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is a chance for us to get acquainted and begin creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and focused on you. We’ll explore your background and discuss what has led you to seek therapy, along with what you’re hoping to get out of our work together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. Feeling nervous is completely normal. We’ll move at a comfortable pace, and I’ll provide guidance to support you every step of the way. I may ask some gentle questions to better understand your experiences, but this session is also about you getting a feel for me and how I work. By the end of the session, we’ll have a clearer sense of your goals and whether we’re a good fit moving forward. You can expect a respectful, non judgmental conversation where you’re heard and supported. There’s nothing special you need to prepare, just come as you are.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is collaborative, supportive, and focused on helping you move toward meaningful change. I often use solution-focused therapy, concentrating on your strengths, resources, and what's already working. Rather than analyzing problems, we focus on your goals and practical steps toward positive change. I prioritize clear and open communication to foster a supportive, nonjudgmental environment through active listening. I create space for you to reflect on your experiences while serving as an empathetic partner on your journey. You can expect me to approach our work with calmness, patience, and understanding.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, trauma processing, developing coping strategies, and seeking clarity around personal and professional goals. My approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership. Together, we'll identify and set goals meaningful to you, whether focused on improving relationships, building self-esteem, or pursuing other personal objectives. As you gain new insights, your goals may evolve, and we'll adapt our plan accordingly.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is a structured, short-term talk therapy helping you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that cause distress, focusing on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions to develop coping skills for present problems like depression, anxiety, and PTSD. It's action oriented, problem focused, and involves practicing skills in real life, often through homework, to help you become your own therapist.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term, future-oriented therapy focusing on building solutions and goals rather than dwelling on problems, using clients' strengths and resources to create practical, positive change quickly. Developed by Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, it employs techniques like the miracle question and scaling questions to help clients envision a desired future, identify exceptions to problems, and find realistic steps to achieve their goals, often requiring just a few sessions.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF CBT) is an evidence-based treatment, especially for children and adolescents, that helps them process trauma by linking thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, teaching coping skills (relaxation, emotional regulation, cognitive restructuring) to manage PTSD, depression, and behavior issues, and involves caregivers through psychoeducation and joint sessions to rebuild trust and safety after abuse, violence, or loss. It uses structured phases to help clients integrate traumatic memories, reduce avoidance, and develop healthier coping, often involving gradual exposure to trauma memories.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy is a positive psychotherapy approach focusing on a client's existing inner strengths, resources, and positive qualities to foster personal growth, resilience, and well-being, rather than dwelling on problems or deficits. It empowers individuals to see themselves as capable survivors and experts in their own lives, helping them identify and leverage their skills to overcome challenges, improve self-esteem, and build more positive worldviews. Techniques include identifying strengths, reframing challenges, journaling, and building on past successes, making it effective for issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, and low self-esteem.
