Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I believe it’s no coincidence that you found your way here — this may be part of God’s plan for you to pause, reflect, and explore support for your journey. My name is Danita, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with eight years of experience in the mental health field and four years in private practice. I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California, in 2008. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with many incredible clients and families, each bringing their own unique strengths, resilience, and life experiences.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, I focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy and building rapport. This is an opportunity to share your experiences, goals and any concerns you may have. I will explain my approach, answer your questions, and collaborate with you to create a plan tailored to your needs. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, supported and clear about the next steps in your therapeutic journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my approach apart is combining real-world experience with a collaborative, client-centered focus. With 20 years in Human Resources leadership, I bring insight into relationships, workplace dynamics, and life transitions. I partner with clients to create a safe space, using evidence-based strategies to help them build resilience, navigate challenges, and move forward with confidence.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck — ready for change but needing professional support to move forward? I provide therapy for adults, with a particular focus on African Americans and people of color (BIPOC), while warmly welcoming individuals of all racial and ethnic backgrounds. I understand the unique stressors that come from balancing personal responsibilities, cultural expectations, and systemic challenges. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you don’t have to explain or minimize your experiences. Everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and validated — especially while navigating life’s challenges within the context of their lived and cultural experiences.
