Hi, I'm Sara! I believe everyone has the capacity to heal, even when life feels overwhelming. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and comfortable being your authentic self. You don't have to have the right words or all the answers—we'll figure things out together. I enjoy helping people understand themselves on a deeper level, recognize patterns that no longer serve them, and build practical tools that create meaningful, lasting change. My approach is collaborative, personalized, and grounded in the belief that therapy should meet you where you are. I know that healing isn't always linear, and I believe growth can happen through both the difficult moments and the lighter ones. While we may explore deep emotions, I also welcome laughter, curiosity, and celebrating the small wins along the way. My hope is that you leave each session feeling heard, supported, and a little more connected to yourself than when you arrived.

I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space where your unique story can be truly heard and valued. Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, proudly based in Oakland, California. I have supported folks over the last decade and was called to social work while employed at an art studio for adults with various health needs. In 2017, I received my Master's in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley. I have been practicing as a social worker for 9 years. I support folks 18+ in navigating trauma and self worth. As a Lebanese-American therapist, I aim to work with folks who are seeking the opportunity to re-examine their cultural storyline and get creative in unpacking their identity. Together, let’s challenge societal expectations and strive to center your authentic self. A little about me, personally: I identify as an artist and child of the earth, as diaspora has scattered my ancestors across the Arab world, Africa, Europe, and North America. I am fascinated by intersectionality and the powerful ways that resilience shapes our multi-hyphenate individuality. It is important that I take care of myself so that I can be a pillar of support to my clients. The way that I release painful feelings is by channeling them into creative projects. I also work hard to stay connected to my body and my surroundings. Whether it’s through writing, building clay sculptures, beading, or making collages, self-expression is a healing practice. I encourage everyone to play a little bit!

In our work together, I aim to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. Side by side, we’ll explore the patterns and beliefs that influence how you relate to others and how you show up in your life. Starting therapy can cause all sorts of feelings but I strive to make this experience as pleasant and empowering as possible. In order to do that, let me tell you about myself. I a am firm believer that everyone has a set of skills and strengths that when explored, can help us achieve the unimaginable. I am a first generation Xicana who can relate to the challenges that many first generation folks face. It is important to have conversations and recognize that people of color face systemic oppression the form of mircoaggression, racism, and other discriminations. I aim to create a safe and welcoming space to help guide and support you through your wellness journey.

I specialize in working with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, self-esteem challenges, and relationship difficulties. Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, insightful, and highly self-aware, yet still find themselves struggling with persistent anxiety, self-doubt, or relationship patterns that leave them feeling stuck. Common themes include people-pleasing, perfectionism, codependency, difficulty setting boundaries, and challenges rooted in family or relational dynamics. My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I draw from CBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and relational approaches, tailoring treatment to each client’s individual needs and goals. I deeply believe therapy can be the bridge to deeper self-understanding, healthier relationships, and meaningful lasting change. I am here to create a safe, supportive space for you to find growth and healing. I will meet you where you are at, remain open and curious about your experiences, and partner with you to identify and work towards your goals. I believe in the healing power of showing up authentically, creating a trusting relationship with you, and even sharing some laughs along the way.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Depression, is filtering therapists in California that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
