Welcome! Whether you're struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, or simply feeling "stuck," I'm here to help you restore balance and move toward a life of fulfillment. I strive to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered to make lasting changes. My approach is solution-focused, goal-oriented, compassionate and client-centered. I work with you in partnership to help uncover solutions to your challenges so we don't get "stuck" on the problems themselves. I've enjoyed helping adults navigate life's most difficult transitions for the last 25 years and I'd like to help you, too. By focusing on the skills of distress tolerance, emotional regulation, mindfulness and interpersonal effectiveness, we can begin to feel more in control of our day to day responses to stressors. I provide sessions geared towards formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavioral change. It helps you get "unstuck" and back in control! One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing clients set meaningful, value-driven goals and achieving them. That's why I partner with you to ensure you are empowered to reach your full potential. As you work through life's transitions, I will be there to guide, encourage, and challenge you to push past obstacles and create the life you want. My approach is solution focused. I am not primarily concerned with how or why your present challenge developed but will focus instead on helping you to find a way forward. I hope to elicit and reinforce your positive attributes and competencies and help you access your inner strength. Your ability to change or improve your situation depends on your desire to do so and my job is to awaken that desire within you. The biggest challenge all of us face is negative thinking. This is a reflection of our own disappointment of what we see when we look inside ourselves. By improving our self-image through accentuating our positive qualities we begin to see the world in a more positive light. A sure way of feeling better about ourselves is to find something good in every other human being. Note: I do not write letters or fill out forms regarding disability due to behavioral health issues.

Hello, my name is David Fallon and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been licensed for about 20 years. I've worked with all kinds of individuals. I started by working with kids with behavior issues. Mostly I have worked with serious mental illness on the streets serving unhoused individuals. And I have worked with people seeking help in a one on one therapy situation. The first session will be for us to get to know each other and see if this is a good fit. I will be asking a lot of questions. Feel free to ask me any questions that come up as well. I will tell you a little bit about how I work. In the early stages, I basically follow your lead. You tell me what you want to work on, and I ask questions to understand the problem. Together we figure out ways of dealing with these problems. Sometimes it takes more than one or two or even a dozen tries to find the right things that work for you. This process is a journey, and I am here to help guide you through it. I can make recommendations, but it is up to you what you want to do and what works for you. Sometimes difficult thoughts are feelings will come up. Do not be afraid to express them when they do as the more genuine and honest you are, the more I will understand what you are dealing with. That being said, always take things at your own pace. Never feel rushed or forced to say anything you are not ready to say.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in California. I hold a master's degree in Social Work and a master's degree in Psychology. I am currently a doctoral candidate completing my PhD in Media Psychology, where I focus on the latest research regarding the impact of social media on mental health. With over 16 years of professional experience, I have worked with individuals of all ages with diverse cultural backgrounds. My career is dedicated to helping individuals struggling with addictions, relationship issues, trauma, domestic violence, and sexual assault. I collaborate with the District Attorney/Victim Witness program to support those navigating legal challenges within the court system. Throughout my career, I have worked in private practice, psychiatric hospitals, a Native American charter high school with at-risk youth, and as a school-based therapist in a non-profit organization. I provide guidance to individuals seeking change, focusing on self-empowerment, self-esteem, and self-confidence techniques. I treat everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I customize sessions and treatment goals to address the unique and specific needs of each individual. It takes courage to embark on a journey towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life, and the initial steps toward change may seem daunting. I am here to facilitate your exploration of that journey and empower you through self-discovery and awareness.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal?

Yes! If you use Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
