LCSW, 12 years of experience
I help adults and older adults manage anxiety, depression, and life stress in a real, down-to-earth way. Life can hit hard, relationships change, losses happen, motivation drops, and sometimes you just need someone who actually listens and helps you get back on track. My clients tell me they appreciate that I’m genuine and easy to talk to. I don’t use jargon or push “cookie-cutter” therapy. Instead, I meet you where you are and work with you to find practical steps that make a real difference in your day-to-day life. We’ll focus on helping you feel more grounded, confident, and able to handle what life throws at you. Whether it’s stress, grief, or just feeling lost, I provide a safe space to unpack what’s weighing on you and find your way forward. If you’re looking for support that’s honest, respectful, and actually helpful, let’s start with a conversation. You don’t have to do this alone.
In our first session, we’ll take time to get comfortable and talk about what’s bringing you in. I’ll ask questions to understand your current challenges, your history, and what you’d like to get out of therapy. You can share as much or as little as you feel ready to. We’ll identify some short-term goals together and start looking at what’s working, what’s not, and where we can begin making small changes. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, supported, and clear about the next steps in your care.
I help adults work through depression, anxiety, and relationship-related trauma with honesty, empathy, and practical strategies. My approach isn’t about surface-level advice — we dig into what’s really driving the stress or pain, then build a plan that fits your life. Clients often say they start feeling relief within the first month as we focus on small, consistent steps that lead to lasting change. My goal is to help you feel grounded, confident, and more in control of your life.
I work with adults and older adults from all backgrounds, including veterans, active-duty military, LGBTQ+ individuals, and survivors of trauma. I also support people facing life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, or challenges related to identity and belonging. My experience includes working with students, individuals involved in the criminal justice system, immigrant and refugee communities, and those experiencing homelessness or other hardships. No matter your story, you’ll be met with respect, empathy, and practical support to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life.
I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns and replace them with more realistic, balanced ways of thinking. This helps reduce anxiety, lift mood, and improve daily functioning. My approach is structured, supportive, and focused on giving you practical tools you can use right away to feel more in control of your emotions and reactions.

Mike is so supportive and encouraging as I'm figuring out my life now. He ties in what I've told him in past sessions and builds on that, asking good questions to help me understand myself and my relationships better and to get unstuck from regressive or negative thinking about myself. Funny, too.

Michael is a thoughtful, understanding, caring, compassionate and humorous professional. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of mental health. He’s the kind of clinician who even if he’s not the best fit for you will help you in finding the right fit because he truly cares.

He’s very honest, but very direct and straight to the point he doesn’t do the roundabouts or the gameplay. He just stretched to the point exactly what you need to hear but in a sense of being very kind hearted while doing it very intelligent Man very wise in and understanding people‘s life experiences! Actually one of the best therapist I’ve ever engaged with in my 12 1/2 years with mental disabilities. My session begins with me crying, and then ends with a smile on my face thank you Michael!
