I understand how tough life can be. Before I became a therapist, I went through my own challenges — unhoused, unemployed, and struggling with substance use. I am a straight-forward but empathic therapist, who also appreciates the same from her clients. I also believe in the social work mission of starting where the client is, so sessions are based upon that analogy. I have experience in many areas, including hospital, foster care, group homes, forensics, Veterans, home health, etc. I received my Masters of Social Science Administration from Case Western Reserve Univerity, and my Doctorate of Psychology from California Southern University. Although I have a doctorate degree, my scope of practice does not fall under psychological testing, pharmacological practices, nor community services. I only do individual therapy so if you need case management (such as letters), family/couples therapy, psychologicial testing, or medication, please refer to those licensed or practicing in those areas.

Fifteen+ years go, I began my journey as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Since my start in the field, I have worked within substance abuse residential facilities, Drug Court, intensive in-home behavioral services, military families, and private practice with children, adults, and couples. I have provided support across a variety of populations over the years addressing anxiety, depression, and neurodivergent and immigrant and refugee populations. These experiences have shaped my therapeutic lens and the understanding of how larger systems like health, education, and economic status attribute to mental health challenges. The education and training I received aligned with my belief that mental health and wellness challenges are not developed solely through chemical and psychological disruptions, but are also an outcome of the systems and relationships that have shaped us and those we are currently in. From that perspective, my approach to therapy begins in exploring attachment. One's attachment style as developed in their childhood can trace relationship patterns as well as one's worldview identifying keys to distress. The way we seek comfort in distress impact not only our intimate relationships, but our work life and economic choices. Oftentimes, therapeutic progress has neglected how intricately interwoven are the body, soul, and spirit. Intersecting all three in sessions, I endeavor to proactively support individuals in developing their wellness lifestyle in order to be best informed when future barriers and areas of stuck-ness in life occur. I believe in the power of unveiling one's authentic self and harnessing their inherent strengths to achieve personal and professional fulfillment.

If you are feeling stuck, and unable to make changes in your life, you're not alone. Whether it's in your professional life, your personal life, or both, feeling unsuccessful at doing life may affect your mood, your outlook, and your health. Repeated frustration and disappointment can lead to depression, anxiety, problems sleeping, etc. For 20 years, I have worked with people to help them unlearn negative behaviors and thinking patterns, replacing them with new habits and ideas that support the changes they want to make. Through experiencing success, most people find a new sense of accomplishment that improves their mood, enabling them to take better care of themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally, Deciding to enter into therapy is an important decision. I believe that it can be a major turning point in your life, and by working through a modality that considers your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, you are very likely to achieve the quality of life that you are seeking.

Hola Aloha I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) CA, Art Therapist, Eco-Therapist, Certified 500-Hour Yoga Teacher, and Holy Fire Reiki Master. I support people in creating meaningful change by cultivating mindful awareness of thought and speech patterns that influence growth, joy, and satisfaction. Together, we’ll practice identifying and shifting beliefs that no longer serve you, reframe unhelpful narratives, and open space for empowerment, clarity, and transformation. Rooted in my Native American Mexica, Spanish, and European heritage, I bring a holistic, culturally grounded approach to therapy. My Souljorn has taken me across Europe, Asia, Mexico, and the Hawaiian Islands, where I immersed myself in culture, permaculture, meditation, healing arts, spirituality, and indigenous ceremonies—experiences that continue to guide my work. I hold a B.A. in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley and an M.A. in Psychology and Art Therapy, where I studied neuroplasticity and creative approaches to healing and positive change. I also share Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), or tapping, which helps honor and release limiting thoughts and emotions. Mindfulness is the core theme in my practice. I offer guidance to connect with nature, the elements, and the cycles of the seasons as pathways to grounding, connection, renewal, and deeper self-awareness. Earlier in my career I worked in community clinics, schools, homes, and wilderness therapy programs. Today, I provide online therapy for California residents, offering a compassionate and intentional space for growth and healing. I received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia University) in 2012. In addition to my graduate training, I hold certifications in Psychedelic Integration, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Somatic Therapy, and yoga instruction. Before beginning my private practice, I worked in a range of clinical and community settings, including psychiatric facilities, community mental health programs, group rehabilitation homes, and correctional institutions. My experience includes supporting migrants, minors, and adults; individuals detoxing from drugs and alcohol; and clients participating in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy integration groups. I have had the privilege of working with people of all ages, gender identities, racial backgrounds, and mental health concerns. In my private practice, I currently focus on working with adults navigating the effects of complex trauma, depression, anxiety, major life transitions, existential questions, chronic illness, neurodivergence, and non-ordinary states of consciousness. Many of the therapeutic modalities I use are those that have deeply transformed my own life. I am passionate about sharing the tools and practices that have supported my healing, in service of others’ growth and our collective wellbeing. I also offer sliding scale options for those who need them—please don’t hesitate to reach out if this would make therapy more accessible for you. YES I DO TAKE KAISER! The option might not appear unless you have received a referral. Please contact four08-402-4385 or kaisersupport at growtherapy dot com for help with this process!

I specialize in holding space for the deep-thinkers and cycle-breakers, the individuals who have spent a lifetime looking inward and dismantling generational patterns, yet still feel the friction of a world demanding 'more' at the expense of 'being.' My approach combines a lifelong passion for psychology and therapeutic processes with a multicultural, spiritually grounded worldview. As a mother, a doctoral candidate, and a business owner, I don't just teach boundaries; I live them. I am a 'Keturah-sized' bridge in the wellness gap for those who have cycled through therapists searching for a peer who truly sees them. Together, we intentionally move past the '15 tasks by yesterday' mentality and into a strategic, soul-deep architecture of rest, healing, and expansion.

Are you tired of being the emotional project manager in your relationships? Do you stay calm on the outside while mentally writing resignation letters from your relationships? **Could you BE any more overwhelmed? (Chandler’s voice)** Well, hello—I’m really glad you’re here. If you’re someone who looks capable on the outside but feels stretched thin, overwhelmed, or quietly exhausted on the inside, you’re in the right place. I’m Katrina, a Christian therapist who works with high-achieving individuals navigating relationship shifts, workplace stress, and the pressure of holding it all together. My work blends evidence-based approaches like Compassion-Focused Therapy and CBT with faith-centered values  and scripture references, creating a space where you don’t have to choose between emotional healing and your beliefs. And yes, I believe therapy can be meaningful without feeling painfully serious all the time. If you appreciate a well-timed *Friends*, *The Office*, *Parks and Recreation*, or *Brooklyn Nine-Nine* reference, we’ll probably get along just fine. Sometimes humor helps us feel human, breathe a little deeper, and make space for the harder conversations. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you slow down, untangle the mental noise, and reconnect with who you are beneath all the expectations and responsibilities. This is a place where you can stop performing, be honest, laugh when you need to, and feel supported as you move toward clarity, peace, and purpose. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands both your ambition and your faith—and who won’t mind the occasional pop-culture reference—I’d love to walk alongside you. Let’s turn survival mode into sustainable growth and help you feel grounded, confident, and hopeful again. Schedule an appointment today, and let’s take the next step together.

If you are ready to begin taking steps towards a happier and more fulfilling life, I am here to help. I look forward to working with you! Please note: I currently have limited availability due to childcare. My available days rotate each week. For example, if I have availability on a Monday one week, I will be available on a Wednesday the following week. If you are experiencing symptoms that require you to be seen weekly, I may not be the best fit for you at this time. I will go over my availability details during your intake and if you decide it will not work for you, I will send referrals to you for other therapists on Grow.

Couples: I am TAKING Couples again. However only on Cash Pay basis. This is how it will work: You can schedule with me an hour consultation, you don't both have to be present, for this Consultation. From there we will meet 5 to 6 times for 1.5 hour sessions. It is very difficult to have Couples sessions within 60 min. The Cash pay is $250.00 for the 1.5 hour sessions. I understand the cost can be a deterrent in seeking help, however if you are both committed to doing the work 5 to 6 sessions should be productive and enough to see changes. Individuals: Of course I am still taking individuals that are or are not in a relationship and need help. We were never taught how to be in a relationship of any kind. Yes there are tons of books of how to, however to put them to practical use can be very difficult. This can also relate to a relationship with a family member, friends or co-workers. I am here to help with coping strategies for anxiety and depression symptoms or learning how to communicate more effectively with others. For Clients that are insured by Kaiser: I will be confirming your appointment 48 hours before the appointment by email, please email me back with a confirmation. If you do not respond to my email I will cancel the appointment. I am sorry to have to do this, however I have had an excessive amount of no shows. Thank you for understanding.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Yes! If you use UnitedHealthcare Life Insurance you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have UnitedHealthcare Life Insurance you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
