In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session, clients can expect a warm and collaborative environment where we begin building a therapeutic alliance. We'll discuss the reasons for seeking therapy, explore current challenges, and set goals for our work together. I'll provide an overview of the therapeutic process, addressing any questions or concerns you may have. We'll also discuss confidentiality and establish a foundation of trust. I'll gather relevant background information, including your personal history and current circumstances, to better understand your unique perspective. This initial session is an opportunity for you to share your experiences and for me to begin tailoring an approach that aligns with your needs. We may explore your goals for therapy, any previous experiences with counseling, and factors contributing to your current situation. Additionally, I might introduce some initial therapeutic techniques or coping strategies to provide immediate support. Importantly, the first session is a collaborative space where we work together to create a roadmap for your therapeutic journey. It's an opportunity to ensure that you feel comfortable, heard, and understood, setting the stage for a productive and meaningful therapeutic relationship.
