LMFT, 20 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi there, my name is Cynthia Haynes, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work in private practice, providing one-on-one individual therapy as well as couples counseling. I have over 10 years of experience in private practice. I love my career, I love helping people and am passionate about helping people grow and experience meaningful, positive results in their lives.
The first session is more like an 'Eval' where I get to know you and understand the reasons you’re seeking therapy. I often explore childhood and adolescent experiences to uncover any past challenges or traumas that may still be affecting you. Therapy is a safe space to express and work through these internal struggles. It might sound a bit intimidating at first, but don’t worry—our sessions are completely safe, and everything will move at your pace.
I like to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is widely recognized as one of the most effective therapeutic approaches. With CBT, we work on understanding and reshaping your thoughts and applying these insights to your everyday behaviors. The goal is to help you reframe and retrain your thinking so you can engage in healthier behaviors and develop a more balanced mindset. I also like to integrate some "light" psychoanalyses to gain a deeper understanding of why certain struggles in your present life may feel particularly challenging or complicated to resolve. Ultimately, this approach helps you work through past issues, develop effective coping strategies, and build lasting confidence and inner happiness.
I work with individuals that want to see positive change; in their lives, in their working environments, in their social lives and in their personal relationships with their loved ones. I provide individual coping skills and positive strategies to assist with day to day challenges. However, therapy often involves exploring the deeper, underlying struggles that need to be addressed in order to achieve lasting, long-term change.
I like to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach and guide clients the relearning to reframe, retrain thought process by applying cognition learned in therapy to behaviors.
