Hi there! Do you ever feel pulled in a million directions? Maybe it's hard to finish tasks, or you're struggling with relationships, work, or your health, and being kind to yourself feels impossible. You're not alone, and you don't have to figure it out by yourself.

Clients have described my approach as thoughtful, compassionate, creative, and reliable with a calming demeanor and a steady strength-based, supportive presence.

My goal is to walk alongside you as you face life's challenges, discover your strengths, and move toward real change, healing, and a greater sense of well-being. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist with more than 14 years of experience, and I help people with depression, anxiety, and addiction. I'm fluent in English, Farsi, and Pashto. I've traveled across Europe and lived in Asia and South America, and those experiences taught me how much a person's background and life story shape the way they think and feel. I bring that understanding into every session. Clients often describe me as thoughtful, caring, creative, and reliable, with a calm and steady presence. I take a relaxed approach to therapy, and you lead the way. In our first session, we'll start with a quick hello and get to know each other. Then we'll talk about a few of the challenges you're facing. I'll ask open questions and listen closely so I can understand what matters most to you. There's no pressure to have everything figured out. Sometimes it takes a few sessions to understand what's really going on underneath, and that's perfectly okay.

In our first session together, we’ll begin with brief introductions and then explore few of the specific challenges you’re facing. I ask open-ended questions and listen deeply to understand what is most important to you. There is no pressure to have everything figured out, sometimes it takes a few sessions to uncover what’s really going on beneath the surface and that’s perfectly okay.

Strengths

I'll meet you where you are in a welcoming space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I'll respect your pace and your process, whether you're ready to dive in or just starting to explore what brought you to therapy. For more than 14 years, I've worked with people facing depression, anxiety, and at times addiction, including when they show up together. I can also help with stress at work and struggles in relationships. I use practical, solution-focused tools, including cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness, to help you notice and change negative thought patterns and build coping skills that work in your daily life.

Ideal clients

Do you lie awake at night with thoughts that won’t quiet down, ...? Are overwhelming emotions or racing thoughts affecting your relationships or professional life? Do you feel the pressure to constantly overperform, leaving you drained and disconnected? Have you found yourself neglecting the people you love—your partner, children, or close friends—because you’re simply trying to hold it all together? You may be carrying the weight of generational trauma, systemic injustice, personal loss, or relationship challenges. You might be struggling with work-life imbalance or trying to make sense of your mood, thoughts, or emotions. If any of this resonates, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate this alone. What truly sets me apart is my ability to blend clinical skill with authenticity, cultural humility, and a deep belief in people’s capacity to grow. I help clients not only manage their challenges but also reconnect with their purpose, power and potential. What makes me unique is the intersection of my lived experience, professional expertise, and unwavering commitment to equity and healing. My approach is laid-back, relational, and client-led. I don’t rush the process—I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and walk alongside my clients at their own pace. My goal here is to empower individuals to regain control, and move toward manageable life experiences. I believe everyone deserves a safe affirming space to be heard, understood, and supported. Therapy can be that space—a place to reconnect with your most authentic self, restore balance, and begin a journey of healing, growth, and transformation.

I came to therapy the day before my partner of 40 years passed away. I was dubious about the efficacy of virtual sessions after having in person therapy in the past and boy, did Soheila prove me wrong. I am slow to warm up and trust people but Soheila made it easy to open up at my own pace and I felt supported and well understood almost immediately. Soheila has a lot of tools to offer, both from her training which she utilizes well, and also from her natural gift of compassionate understanding

Soheila has been the best therapist that I could have started my therapy journey with. She allows me to self reflect on a lot of my experiences that I struggle with and allows for open conversation. I feel comfortable sharing all of my thoughts to her knowing she will help to aid in my self empowerment.
