My name is Rosemary. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. In my practice, I integrate evidence-based techniques with a warm and supportive approach. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel understood and valued. My role in our therapeutic relationship is to assist my clients in setting realistic and achievable goals, provide support, teach skills and strategies to manage emotional and mental health, facilitate self-discovery, challenge narrative patterns, and provide feedback and insight.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our initial sessions, my priority is to get to know you; what has motivated you to begin your healing journey and what goals you envision for yourself. I enjoy sharing insights from my experience in mental health, and often incorporate visuals, book references, music, and relatable life situations to help us work toward the goals you've set. Together, we’ll create a space that supports reflection, growth, and meaningful change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I’ve lived a colorful life full of twists and turns, with unforgettable lessons and incredible people enriching my journey. As a result, I draw from a wide range of therapeutic modalities, tailoring each session to meet clients where they are. I also bring humor into the healing process, having found that some of the most powerful, transformative conversations begin with a touch of lightheartedness, even at the start of a vulnerable path.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health and should be treated with the same level of care and respect. I think that open discussions about mental health are essential for breaking the stigma and fostering a supportive community. My purpose is to advocate for mental health awareness, support those who are struggling, and promote the importance of mental well-being in our daily lives. My philosophy has been shaped by my own experiences, the stories of those around me, and the work of mental health advocates and professionals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have applied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my work with foster youth, incarcerated minors and adults, families, couples, and individuals. Recognizing that our thoughts and feelings influence our decisions, I support clients in setting realistic and achievable goals. I teach practical skills and strategies to manage emotional and mental health, facilitate self-discovery, challenge maladaptive thought patterns, and offer constructive feedback and insight throughout the therapeutic process.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) resonates deeply with me because of its emphasis on psychological flexibility which includes the ability to stay present and open, even in the face of difficult thoughts and emotions. In my work with clients, I incorporate ACT principles to help them accept challenging experiences, clarify their values, and take committed action toward meaningful goals, even when discomfort is present.

EMDR

The trauma we experience in life can affect us in ways we may not always be consciously aware of. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) offers a path to process that trauma, allowing us to heal, thrive, and move forward. When my clients and I choose EMDR as a treatment modality, it reflects a shared decision to no longer remain stuck in the past, but to begin the journey toward healing and growth.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

When we experience mental health symptoms but are still able to function, we often ignore the parts of ourselves that are calling out for help. Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy creates space for clients to become aware of these different parts and understand what each one needs. In my experience using IFS, I’ve found that clients benefit greatly from the opportunity to be vulnerable and allow all of their parts to be seen and heard. This process supports healing from past trauma and helps build the confidence needed to move forward after feeling stuck.

Motivational Interviewing

People tend to change when they feel ready, not when they're told to. In my experience, motivational interviewing has proven effective in working with individuals who have faced adversity and are considering change yet may hesitate due to a variety of personal reasons. This approach honors a person's autonomy while gently guiding them toward the vulnerable, yet empowering, decision to transform aspects of their life.
