I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist and credentialed art therapist (ATR-P) with experience working across the lifespan—from childhood through later life—and with multigenerational families. I use a developmental and family-systems perspective, recognizing that every life stage brings distinct needs involving safety, independence, competence, identity, relationships, purpose, caregiving, loss, and meaning. I help clients navigate anxiety, trauma, grief, cultural stress, family conflict, and major transitions through conversation, practical tools, and creative approaches when helpful. Art is always optional.

25 years experience. I see everybody and I love kids. My approach is psychodynamic rather than cognitive behavioral. Glad to explain the difference to you if you don’t know those terms. I generally see people over a period of at least a few years. And former patients say that they appreciate the results we get.

My professional background includes mental health counseling, crisis intervention, clinical supervision, program development, and leadership in student mental health and wellness. This experience has strengthened my ability to see the whole person, understand the systems that impact their lives, and help clients identify practical ways to navigate challenges and create meaningful change. With over a decade of clinical experience, I provide a grounded, client-centered approach to navigating complex life transitions. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Cal-Poly Humboldt and have since dedicated my practice to helping individuals and families resolve deep-seated conflict. My work is focused on empowering you to master anxiety, improve communication, and navigate the specific nuances of men’s issues and relational dynamics. Beyond the therapy room, I serve as Associate Faculty in Psychology. This role ensures that our work remains rooted in the latest developmental research and psychological science. I don’t view therapy as a passive process, but as a deliberate partnership designed to foster resilience and clarity. I believe that every individual holds the expertise over their own life. I’m Allan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy—especially for kids—doesn’t have to mean sitting on a couch talking about feelings for 50 minutes. Sometimes the best conversations happen over LEGOs, games, art, play, or while doing something that makes it easier to simply be yourself. Online, it could mean processing trauma, playing online therapeutic games with children (or adults if you want to). I especially enjoy working with children and teens, including kids who are anxious, overwhelmed, navigating trauma, struggling with big emotions or behaviors, or having a hard time putting what’s happening inside into words. I use play, creativity, humor, and evidence-based approaches to build connection and help kids develop skills without therapy feeling like another place where adults are telling them what to do. I also work with adults navigating trauma, mood concerns, relationships, identity, major life changes, and life’s more complicated chapters. My style is warm, humorous, direct, and genuinely human. I draw from DBT, EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, play-based interventions, Theraplay-informed practices, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care, adapting therapy to the person in front of me rather than expecting them to adapt to therapy. My professional experience includes inpatient psychiatry, juvenile justice, child welfare, family services, and community mental health, so I’m comfortable working with both everyday struggles and situations that feel especially complicated. Whether we meet in my Eureka office or online, my goal is to create a space where you—or your child—feel safe, understood, and comfortable showing up exactly as you are. My practice is LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse affirming and neurodiversity-affirming. And yes, there are credentials behind the LEGOs.

As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my deep empathy, active listening, and a commitment to mindful curiosity. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space where your unique story can be truly heard and valued. Rather than simply diagnosing a problem, I listen for the 'hidden' stories of your strengths and values that often get overshadowed. My approach to active listening is about more than just understanding; it’s about standing alongside you to deconstruct the challenges you face and uncover the skills you already possess. Together, we will collaborate to rewrite the narratives that no longer serve you, fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and the reclamation of your personal agency.

I am a deeply attentive and discerning therapist that understands each person's life unfolds as its own intricate composition - shaped by rhythm , interruption, dissonance, silence, and return. At times the weight of experience can disrupt that internal continuity, leaving a person feeling fragmented, suspended, or estranged from a deeper coherence of their own life. Therapy offers a space to listen closely and differently: to what has become strained or dissonant, to where the tempo has shifted, and to what may be ready to be restored to greater clarity, resonance, and flow. My work is grounded in the belief that healing is both relational and interpretive. Healing calls not only for insight, but for attunement to timing pattern, pacing, and emotional cadence. Each session build on the last guided by what continues to reverberate beneath the surface - an unresolved phrase, a recurring motif, an abrupt change in tempo, a silence that holds more than words. Together, we consider what has been interrupted, what has been carried too long, and what now may be ready to be reworked, integrated, or sustained with greater continuity and intention.

I’m Alana, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Los Angeles. I work with young adults and women who are navigating major life transitions and feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. Together, we identify and clear the patterns that get in the way of you showing up as the most grounded, confident version of yourself. I earned my undergraduate degree from Simmons University and my master’s degree from the University of Southern California. Over the past decade, I’ve worked across a wide range of settings—including school-based mental health programs within LAUSD and SMMUSD, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, the Department of Children and Family Services, intensive outpatient and residential programs and most recently private practice. These experiences shaped a treatment approach that is thoughtful, flexible, and deeply attuned to the whole person. I believe meaningful therapy goes beyond symptom management and focuses on understanding the root causes of distress. My style is warm yet direct, grounded, and collaborative. Clients often share that they feel relief early on—because they finally feel understood. My role isn’t to “fix” you, but to help you reconnect with your strengths, build clarity and confidence, and feel more in control of your life again.

Hello. I'm Cameron and I strive to be very relatable. I have a deep commitment to supporting neurodivergent individuals, trans and gender diverse individuals, BIPOC clients, and veterans. I believe the development of our identities is fluid and ever evolving. I believe that everyone deserves a warm and affirming space to explore who they are, including how their identities develop and express themselves, and to honor their story. Everyone deserves an opportunity to build resilience in the face of systemic challenges. Everyone deserves the chance to thrive. My work is grounded in a gender-affirmative, trauma-responsive approach, informed by social justice and intersectionality frameworks. Rather than work as a purist, I often utilize eclectic approaches that include motivational interviewing, humanistic, solution focused, family systems, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and somatic approaches. I am neurodivergent, and I bring both lived experience and clinical expertise to my niche specialty. If you are struggling with discrimination, trauma, chronic and ongoing anxiety and stress, let me guide you into developing self-trust, self-regulation, and meaningful change.

Hi, my name is Angelina Marquez. I grew up on the central coast of California and have two beautiful children. I know life sometimes throws us unexpected challenges that can make us feel overwhelmed, anxious, and hopeless. If you are struggling with life challenges that are impacting your quality of life, I am here to tell you there is hope. Loss is often one of our biggest life challenges that trigger mental health issues. Grief is a natural response to loss, whether that is a loss of a relationship, job, or death of a loved one, it can also bring up thoughts and feelings of past traumas. Processing and learning about loss and grief and what to expect when grieving can help you grow and heal. I graduated from California State University Monterey Bay in 2012 with a Bachelors's in Collaborative Health and Human Services. I went on to work in several different counseling and behavioral health specialist positions until I graduated with a master's in social work in 2018. I have training in various therapeutic modalities and am a certified grief-informed professional. I not only have my own life experiences that brought me to this work; I also have over 10 years of experience working with diverse populations, such as children, adolescents, adults, and families with a variety of needs.

We all have the opportunity in our life to start fresh. During the journey, we change, grow, heal, destroy, and can improve our lives. You will experience difficulties, and you are not alone. We are not alone in this world, but we are compelled to isolate ourselves from the fear of experiencing too much pain. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship challenges, life transitions, and patterns that can leave them feeling stuck or disconnected. My style is warm, down-to-earth, compassionate, and collaborative. I listen deeply without judgment while also offering honest reflection, insight, and practical tools to help you create meaningful change. Many people come to therapy believing something is wrong with them. I approach things differently. I believe our emotional struggles, coping strategies, and relationship patterns often make much more sense when we understand the experiences that shaped them. Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, I help clients become curious about what is happening beneath the surface, why certain patterns developed, how they may have helped you cope or protect yourself, and whether they are still serving you today. Therapy with me is a place where you can show up as you are. You don’t need to have everything figured out, know exactly what to say, or pretend that everything is okay. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-understanding, reconnecting with your strengths, developing healthier ways of coping and relating, and creating changes that feel meaningful and sustainable in your life.

While I am new to Grow Therapy, I have been practicing in various schools settings as a counselor for over a decade: supporting students and parents navigate, life, learning and loss of all types. Whether you or your child experience neurodivergence (such as ADHD, anxiety, autism, emotionality, sensory sensitivities, demand avoidance, etc.) or are struggling with social , work, relationship or routine daily demands, I am here to support you. I also support women going through relationship struggles, whether it's from co-parenting, infidelity, perimenopause, caregiving burnout, etc. Over the years, I found myself working more and more with moms who are carrying it all, doing all that they can, and finding themselves barely hanging on. You may be feeling, overwhelm, confusion, guilt, shame, exhaustion and even anger. If so, I am here to help you navigate through these difficult feelings. I tailor each session to meet the client's individual needs, personality, and strengths. Together, we'll build on your resilience, intuition, and inner resources while creating opportunities for growth, healing, and self-empowerment. My goal is to provide a safe, collaborative environment to make changes at your pace.

It's easy to overlook our need for self-care when we're busy taking care of other aspects of our lives. Our priorities often revolve around work and our family's well-being, leaving us at the bottom of our list. My aim is to encourage self-determination through therapy. During our therapeutic relationship, we will work together to achieve your goals and find new ways to overcome obstacles and crises. We'll collaborate on identifying your strengths, as it's important to recognize how your current mindset and decisions are impacting the challenges you face in life.

Hi there! I'm Nancy, and I am so excited to share a bit about myself with you! Growing up, I experienced some pretty challenging situations within my family, and as a result, I spent much of my childhood in the foster care system and moving from place to place never being able to call a place my home. These experiences gave me a unique perspective on the importance of early intervention and prevention in the mental health field. It was through my experience as a survivor, and my own personal struggles that I discovered my passion for helping others. As a mental health professional, I've had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of individuals, but one experience that stands out to me the most is that of my younger brother. Despite struggling with reading and writing, he was consistently overlooked and eventually turned to drugs, never finishing high school. It's a heartbreaking situation, and I often wonder what could have been different if someone had taken the time to help him earlier. Unfortunately, my brother now suffers from bipolar disorder and experiences panic attacks due to the overwhelming sense of hopelessness and loss he feels. It's because of him that I've dedicated my career to helping others before they reach that point of no return. The point where there is nothing more than resignation and accepting what is than what one could become. Overall, I'm incredibly passionate about what I do and am eager to continue making a positive impact on the lives of children, youth, and families in need. I'm excited about the opportunity to get to know you and be of support to you in your toughest moments in life. Warmly, Nancy Gonzalez-McKenzie

I have been a practicing therapist for over 5 years now. I have worked with a diverse group of populations dealing with depression/anxiety all the way to psychosis diagnoses. I implement a lot of Trauma Focused CBT and Motivational Interviewing into my practice. My clients have often told me that I bring a genuine and compassionate atmosphere to sessions which helps them feel more at ease. I take a very nonjudgmental "at your own pace" type of approach. I want to ensure you feel comfortable every step of the way through your journey with mental health.

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and I believe therapy should be a place where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported without judgment. I work with individuals who are navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, and the challenges that life can sometimes bring. My goal is to create a space where you can talk openly about what you’re going through and feel safe exploring your thoughts and feelings. My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a person-centered style, which means we work together to better understand your experiences while also building practical tools to help you cope, grow, and move forward. I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, supportive, and tailored to you as a person. I also have experience working with military members and veterans, and I recognize the unique experiences and stressors that can come with military life and transitions. I strive to offer a respectful and supportive environment where clients can process their experiences and work toward healing at their own pace. Above all, I believe everyone deserves a place where they feel heard, valued, and supported as they work toward a life that feels more balanced and meaningful.

I’m a warm, authentic and persistent 51-year-old who loves this work. Clients often feel like they’re having an insightful, heartfelt conversation rather than a formal therapy session. I create a space of deep listening and acceptance where you can explore your inner world safely and honestly. By helping you understand and care for the parts of yourself that carry pain or conflict, we ease anxiety and depression and open the door to greater balance and emotional freedom. I speak with an accent—just something to keep in mind.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
