New to Grow
I have a passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve personal growth. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we will work towards your goals and enhance your overall well-being. My approach is client-centered and integrative, tailored to your unique needs. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and strengths-based approaches to empower you and promote positive change. Through a collaborative and empathetic therapeutic relationship, I support you in achieving your personal goals.
First session is meet and greet, get to know each other, obtain a little history, and get a feel for if this is a good fit for you. I tend to be honest, understanding, and not judgmental. We all have stories to tell, and it's good to laugh once in a while. I try to find ways to connect and will be up front with things when needed. I am more soft-spoken and genuine. I can be very direct if a person is starting to really put themselves down or become negative.
I approach goal setting collaboratively, ensuring your unique needs and aspirations are at the forefront of our work together. By actively listening and providing guidance, I help you articulate clear, achievable goals that align with your values. We regularly review and adjust these goals to ensure progress and adapt to changing circumstances.
I work with adults and adolescents facing depression, anxiety, anger management, and behavioral change. I’m particularly comfortable working with clients who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help process trauma and promote healing. I am best positioned to support clients who feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, struggle with self-criticism or low self-worth, or have difficulty regulating intense emotions. I work well with individuals navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, or feelings of loneliness and disconnection. Many of the clients I support are motivated for change but may feel overwhelmed or unsure where to begin, and benefit from a structured, yet compassionate approach. My practice is a strong fit for clients who are open to developing insight, learning practical coping skills, and exploring the deeper roots of their experiences. I strive to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel both supported and gently challenged as they work toward increased self-awareness, emotional resilience, and meaningful, lasting change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my clinical practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and maladaptive behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to increase awareness of the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to develop more balanced, realistic ways of thinking. Through structured interventions such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and skill-building exercises, I support clients in creating meaningful and sustainable changes in their daily lives.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
In my clinical practice, I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support clients in building skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and increase distress tolerance. I incorporate core DBT components such as mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance to help clients respond more effectively to challenging situations. I take a balanced approach of validation and change, helping clients feel understood while also encouraging growth through practical skill-building and real-life application.
Compassion Focused
In my clinical practice, I utilize Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help clients develop a kinder, more supportive relationship with themselves, particularly when they struggle with shame, self-criticism, or feelings of inadequacy. I guide clients in understanding how their threat, drive, and soothing systems influence their emotional experiences, and support them in strengthening their capacity for self-compassion. Through practices such as compassionate imagery, soothing rhythm breathing, and compassionate self-talk, I help clients cultivate a sense of safety, emotional regulation, and inner resilience.
EMDR
In my clinical practice, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences that continue to impact their present functioning. Using bilateral stimulation, I support clients in reprocessing maladaptive memories so they can be integrated in a more adaptive and less emotionally charged way. I guide clients through all phases of EMDR, including preparation, resourcing, and reprocessing, while prioritizing safety, stabilization, and the client’s readiness throughout the process.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I utilize Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify their strengths, resources, and existing successes as a foundation for change. I guide clients in clarifying their goals and envisioning a preferred future, while using techniques such as scaling questions, exception-finding, and goal-setting to highlight what is already working. This approach allows clients to build practical, achievable steps toward meaningful progress in a focused and time-efficient manner.
