Hi, I'm Amy! I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), drama therapist, and Certified Trauma Professional. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, supported, and comfortable showing up as your authentic self. My approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a little humor. I specialize in helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I integrate evidence-based practices with creative approaches, tailoring therapy to your unique needs, strengths, and goals.

I'll meet you with compassion and curiosity while gently challenging the patterns and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck.

I believe meaningful change begins with genuine human connection. Together, we'll explore patterns, build practical coping skills, and create space for healing, self-discovery, and personal growth. My goal is to help you feel empowered to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and self-compassion.

First session

Our first session is all about getting to know each other and understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about your current concerns, relevant background, and what you'd like to focus on. I'll also explain my approach, answer any questions, and discuss what our work together might look like. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it's your first time. There's no expectation to share your entire story right away, and you don't need to prepare anything or have the perfect words to describe what you're experiencing. By the end of our session, I hope you'll have a sense of whether we're a good fit, feel more comfortable with the process, and have a clearer idea of where we'd like to begin. Most importantly, I want you to know that your voice matters and that you have an active role in shaping your therapeutic experience.

Strengths

I bring empathy, authenticity, creativity, and a healthy balance of support and gentle challenge to my sessions. I'm not someone who simply sits back and listens. While I believe in holding space for difficult emotions, I also ask thoughtful questions, offer honest feedback, and help you recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My background in drama therapy allows me to think outside the box and incorporate creative approaches alongside practical, evidence-based tools. I value collaboration, curiosity, and humor, and I tailor my approach to meet you where you are. My goal is to help you feel understood while also encouraging meaningful reflection, growth, and lasting change.

Ideal clients

I work best with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, or significant life transitions. You may feel overwhelmed by your emotions, caught in patterns that no longer serve you, or unsure how to move forward. Perhaps you're struggling with self-worth, setting boundaries, or finding balance between your own needs and the expectations of others. I enjoy working with people who want to better understand themselves and are open to exploring new perspectives, even when the process feels challenging. You don't need to have everything figured out or even know where to begin. Whether you're seeking relief from distressing symptoms, working through difficult experiences, or hoping to make changes in your relationships and daily life, all I ask is that you come as you are. Therapy isn't about becoming a different person. It's about understanding yourself more deeply and discovering what you need to live a life that feels right for you.
