(she/her)
If you are a millennial or Gen Z woman, you've probably become skilled at ignoring or explaining away your own needs and desires so that others can feel more comfortable. On the outside you look like you are doing fine, but inside loneliness, uncertainty, and self-doubt tell a different story. I specialize in clients who are tired of surviving in silence and are ready to start living. Together we will explore past and present experiences to deepen your self-understanding and nurture healing.
In the first session, we will get to know each other. We will focus on what brings you to therapy now, your current situation, and any relevant background information including family, relationships, interests/hobbies, and more.
I meet you where you are and we build from there. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling a little more grounded and a little clearer about yourself. Therapy is a fluid process that is different for everyone. I offer a space where you can explore your inner world while feeling supported, accepted, and understood. I work from an emotionally focused perspective, utilizing narrative, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral theoretical approaches tailored to meet each client's needs. My interest in psychology is rooted in my personal experience learning to manage anxiety & depression, navigating complex relationships, and continually exploring what it means to be human.
Finding a therapist can be tough, so I applaud your courage and effort in getting here. Let's find a time to talk. I'd love to hear more about what you're going through and what you're hoping to find in a therapist. And if it turns out that I'm not the right fit, I can help you find someone who is.
Attachment-based
We will gently look at early childhood attachments to understand how they impact current functioning and seek to relearn deeply held attachment behaviors through a relational psychodynamic framework.
Psychodynamic
We will dig deeper into the mental and emotional processes that influence your behavior so we have a better understanding of your unique experience.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
We will help to identify, challenge, and change unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors.
