Have you found yourself wondering, “What is going on, and how do I make things better?” Whether you’re concerned about your child, navigating the challenges of adolescence, or facing difficulties in your own life, you may be wondering if it’s time to talk to someone who can help. Often, we feel we should be able to figure things out or manage life’s challenges on our own. But working with a skilled mental health professional can make all the difference. Therapy offers more than a space to talk; it provides the guidance, expertise, and supportive therapeutic relationship needed to navigate difficult experiences, understand complex emotions, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Often, we feel we should be able to figure things out or manage life’s challenges on our own.

I enjoy getting to know each person as a unique individual and tailoring my approach to their needs. With children and adolescents, I focus on fostering self-esteem, strengthening emotional regulation, and helping them understand and express their feelings in healthier ways which improves behavior and relationships. With adults, I help uncover underlying patterns and experiences that may contribute to relationship difficulties and emotional distress. Across all ages, I work to help clients develop greater self-understanding, build on their inherent capacity for growth, and experience a more fulfilling life.

Strengths

My approach is client-centered, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that each person has an innate capacity for growth and healing. I take the time to understand each client as a unique individual, honoring their experiences, strengths, and goals while creating a therapeutic space where they feel safe, understood, and supported. I integrate approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) when appropriate to meet each client’s needs. IFS can help clients better understand their internal experiences, recognize the different parts of themselves that influence their emotions and behaviors, and develop greater self-compassion. EMDR may help clients process distressing experiences that continue to affect their emotional well-being and relationships. I tailor the pace and focus of therapy to each client, prioritizing emotional safety and readiness. What makes my approach meaningful is the emphasis on understanding the underlying experiences and patterns that contribute to current struggles, rather than focusing solely on symptoms. Whether I’m working with a child developing emotional regulation, an adolescent navigating identity and relationships, or an adult working through longstanding emotional distress, my goal is to help clients deepen their self-understanding, strengthen their connection with themselves and others, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Ideal clients

My ideal clients are individuals and families who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and wanting to make meaningful changes in their lives. I work well with people who may be feeling overwhelmed by difficult emotions, struggling in their relationships, navigating life transitions, or trying to make sense of experiences that continue to affect their well-being. I enjoy working with children and adolescents who need support developing self-esteem, emotional regulation, and healthier ways of expressing themselves, as well as adults who want to explore underlying patterns and past experiences that may be contributing to current distress or relationship difficulties. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. Whether you are feeling stuck, seeking relief, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, therapy can be a place to explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion. I welcome clients who are open to self-exploration and interested in developing greater self-awareness, strengthening relationships, and moving toward a more fulfilling life. My goal is to meet each person where they are and support them in finding a path forward that feels meaningful to them.

Treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that helps you better understand your inner world, including the different parts of yourself that influence how you think, feel, and respond to life. We all have parts of ourselves that serve different purposes. Some parts may push us to achieve, keep everything under control, or meet others’ expectations, while others may carry feelings of hurt, fear, shame, or rejection from difficult experiences. These parts often develop as ways of protecting us, even when their responses no longer serve us well. IFS helps you approach these parts with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. By understanding what they are trying to do and what they may be protecting, you can begin to develop a more trusting relationship with yourself, process painful experiences, and respond to life with greater flexibility and self-understanding. At the heart of IFS is the belief that beneath these different parts, each person has a core Self capable of compassion, curiosity, clarity, and confidence. Therapy helps you strengthen access to these qualities so you can navigate emotions and relationships with greater ease.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy approach that helps people process distressing experiences that may continue to affect their emotions, beliefs, behaviors, and relationships. Sometimes, difficult or overwhelming experiences can remain emotionally charged long after they have passed. You may find yourself reacting strongly to certain situations, feeling stuck in familiar patterns, or experiencing anxiety, shame, or distress without fully understanding why. EMDR helps the brain process these experiences so they can become less emotionally overwhelming and feel more like memories of the past rather than something that continues to affect the present. During EMDR, we work together to identify experiences and patterns you would like to address. Using bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements or alternating taps, you focus on aspects of a distressing memory while processing the thoughts, emotions, and sensations connected to it. Treatment is individualized and includes preparation and coping skills to support emotional safety and readiness. The goal of EMDR is to help you process difficult experiences, reduce their emotional intensity, and develop a greater sense of confidence, stability, and freedom in your daily life. We move at a pace that respects your needs and readiness, with an emphasis on helping you feel supported throughout the process.

Integrative

My approach to therapy is integrative, client-centered, and tailored to each person's unique needs, experiences, and goals. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing and growth. Rather, I draw from different therapeutic modalities to help clients better understand themselves, process difficult emotions, and create meaningful change. I work collaboratively with clients to explore the underlying experiences and patterns that may be contributing to current struggles, whether in their emotions, behaviors, or relationships. Depending on the individual’s needs, I may integrate approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) to deepen self-understanding and self-compassion, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help process distressing experiences that continue to affect the present. At the heart of my approach is a belief in each person's innate capacity for growth and healing. I strive to create a supportive therapeutic relationship where clients feel understood, develop greater awareness of themselves, and discover new ways of responding to life's challenges. Together, we work toward greater emotional well-being, healthier relationships, and lasting, meaningful change.

Child-Parent Psychotherapy

Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is a play-based approach that helps strengthen the relationship between parents and their children. It is designed to help parents better understand their child’s emotional world, respond more effectively to their needs, and build a stronger foundation of trust, connection, and security. Children often communicate their feelings and experiences through behavior and play, especially when they don't yet have the words to express what they are experiencing. CPRT helps parents recognize and respond to these underlying emotional needs with greater empathy, acceptance, and understanding. Through guided play sessions and practical skills, parents learn ways to strengthen communication, support emotional regulation, build self-esteem, and navigate challenging behaviors while maintaining connection. Rather than focusing solely on correcting behavior, CPRT emphasizes understanding what a child may be communicating through that behavior. The goal is to help parents become a source of emotional safety and connection, empowering children to feel understood, develop confidence, and build the emotional skills they need to navigate life's challenges.
