I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT,) serving individuals and couples within California. I graduated with a Master’s degree from San Francisco State University and have been practicing therapy for over 10 years. I am also a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples therapist and Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional. I provide therapy for adults, teens (12+), and couples, who are struggling but ready to take the first step toward happiness, peace of mind and purpose. I am committed to bringing inclusive and informed care to all, and am experienced working with clients from various ethnicities, immigration histories, sexualities, gender orientations and lifestyle preferences. I begin therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help reduce negative thinking patterns & self-criticism. This can alleviate anxiety, create confidence & set a foundation to make changes with insight and positive energy. We then delve deeper; defining your values to build a life that fulfills you & rethinking how you relate to your past & to others.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together will be a chance for you to tell me who you are, what you are struggling with and what you would like to get out of therapy. I will then share with you ideas on how we can approach your struggles and reach your goals. This will be collaborative, and an opportunity to ask questions, share what plans & styles of therapy work for you and create a path forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

While my clients come from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life, what they often have in common is a sense they are not enough or not doing enough. I have worked with dozens of clients over the last 10 years to successfully reduce their anxiety, perfectionism, and shame. Allowing them to approach life with confidence, experience the joy in the everyday, and celebrate wins both small and large. My strength is my humor, lack of judgement, and commitment to self-acceptance & joy. It can be rare to find a place you can be your true self, including the "ugly," "weird" etc., but it is all welcome with me. My method of self exploration during session, challenging you to look deeper & question, then giving straight forward items to work on has been successful in helping people heal. Especially among people that prefer some direction and a solid plan.

Narrative

Through Narrative Therapy, we explore how the events and stories of your past have created how you currently see yourself. We then examine these stories, deciding what to hold onto, what to reinterpret & what to let go of. This can be helpful in processing trauma, reconciling difficult past relationships & guiding you through tough transitions. The processes can also be empowering, as you realize and acknowledge accomplishments and resilience.
