Hello. I am a licensed social worker in California. I began practicing in the mental health/behavioral health field in 2011. I originally was licensed in Maryland in 2015 but then returned to California in 2016. Since starting in the field, I have worked with individuals ranging in age from 4 years old to 75 years old; most experience working with individuals between the ages of 10 and 35. I have experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, depression, anxiety, parenting problems, and relationship issues. I am an ally of the LGBTQI community and can provide a safe, telehealth space for them. Unfortunately, at this time, I cannot accommodate individuals seeking letters for emotional support animals or those mandated by the court or legal system for therapy. With that said, my goal in being a counselor, is to assist my clients in meeting their identified treatment needs. I am flexible and willing to do whatever I need to do to assist you and help you in any way that I can. If when viewing my profile, you feel as though I am a good fit, but my schedule does not meet your scheduling needs, please feel free to send me a message as I may be able to fit you in at a different time. I work evenings and weekends.

I'm a licensed MFT #81396. My ultimate goal in my therapy work is to help my clients believe in themselves as much as I believe in them. I work with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and countless life issues. While I am deeply humanistic, I also frequently employ elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge clients' negative self-talk, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help them navigate big feelings. My work is informed by Object Relations theory, in which the therapist provides the client with empathy and attunement. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR, which is an invaluable tool for clients struggling with trauma.

Hi there, I am Christine. I have been honored to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds struggling with challenging issues for many years. I base my understanding how people function and heal in human physiology and Christian practices. People experience adverse events differently, impacting them emotionally, physically, and spiritually. These experiences are often not understood verbally by the person, that is why it is important for me to help individuals understand the healing process. Change from a Christian perspective is very practical and personal, while taking into account what might remain unknown on the nonverbal level. In therapy, I utilize a Christian perspective, where the whole person, mind, body, soul, and spirit are valued and addressed according to a biblical interpretation. The mind, body, and spirit are all connected, and the spiritual component is essential to complete wholeness and restoration. I believe the Holy Scriptures to be the infallible, inerrant, and inspired Word of the living God—perfect in truth, divine in origin, and supremely authoritative, speaking with undiminished relevance to every department of human life, faith, and practice. I utilize evidence based therapeutic approaches while incorporating scripture as we take a closer look at all areas of your life. The integration of Christian teaching in therapy with individuals who desire this type of intervention helps them gain a sense of hope for life in Jesus Christ. In my therapeutic approach, I value the positive benefits of faith-based interventions enabling individuals to connect their mental health treatment with their faith creating a more holistic approach to treatment and personal growth. I am here to help; you do not have to figure this out alone.

Over human history, people have mostly lived in close-knit communities. This has eroded with the advances in transportation and technology. Most people have lost much of the social support our forebearers enjoyed. Mental Health Professionals have taken on this role in their respective communities and are an excellent resource for you to realize your strengths and improve your well-being. When your car breaks down you take it to a mechanic. When your tooth hurts you see a dentist. When your mental health can use a “tune-up,” see a Mental Health Professional!

I’m Steven Frank. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), licensed in California and living in Seattle, Washington. The way the law works is that if I have a California license, I can live outside of California, but can only work with California residents. For that reason, all my work is perforyemed online through telehealth. I see primarily adults and seniors in my practice and while I work mostly withindividuals, I will also see couples when needed. I’ve been licensed since 1983 but actually began to “grow” a private practice beginning in 1990. While most of my experience has been with clients dealing with depression and anxiety, over the last 4-5 years I’ve been more focused on the treatment for symptoms of trauma and abuse. I’ve been trained in EMDR (a specific treatment for trauma), and will use that method as needed, when appropriate, and with your understanding of the process, and consent. By the way, my first job experience (before beginning my schooling for the MFT license), was in the California State Hospital system as a psychiatric technician. I was a member of a hospital inpatient treatment team that treated people with severe mental disorders. This was excellent training for working with clients who are seeking help, but on an outpatient basis.

Hi, I’m Tammy Andrade-De La Isla, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I’m here to offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, valued, and empowered. I believe that therapy should feel like a collaborative process, one where we work together to explore your experiences, identify your strengths, and support your personal growth. This perspective continues to influence how I approach my work with clients, always taking into account the larger context, including cultural, historical, and systemic factors that may impact your well-being. I have a strong passion for working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities, and I strive to bring a strength-based, affirming approach to everything I do. In a world where trauma and anxiety often drown out our inner voices, I know that beneath the spoken words, lies a heart’s true narrative. What a degree in Clinical Psychology and a seven-year journey as a therapist has allowed me to is delve deep into the realms of trauma, anxiety, and depression. Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take Blue Shield of California - Medicare?

Yes! If you use Blue Shield of California - Medicare you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Blue Shield of California - Medicare you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
