My name is Uchechi Alozie. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach to therapy is seeing my client within their environment and not just the issues they are presenting. My approach is trying to aid my clients holistically. I have worked with family units for more than 10 years. And have worked with individuals with chronic mental illness for 6 years. I am used to working with families with different dynamics. I have a background in child welfare services, so I am very familiar with the trauma that comes from familial interpersonal relationships. I have worked in an inpatient psychiatric setting, working with individuals suffering from debilitating chronic mental illness.
It is an assessment on you, your environment, and you being able to unpack a little of what brings you to psychotherapy treatment.
I have great communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to help those who struggle with interpersonal dialogue. I am non-judgmental, I have been a social worker for more than 13 years- there is not much I have yet to encounter that has not tested my personal and professional bias for the better and for growth. While boundaries remain important, my clients can know that I am full of compassion and empathy for their situation.
Someone willing to process uncomfortable truths about themselves. The work to healing and growth is uncomfortable and slow. Some willing to take some ownership and wants support to make fundamental change. Bonus points if radical honesty and radical change is something that interests you. This work isn’t about staying in your comfort zone. It’s about looking at the stories, habits, and patterns you’ve been running for years. There are no 3-step hacks here. Real change is messy. Some weeks will feel like breakthroughs. Other weeks will feel like you took 2 steps back. I’m not here to tell you what to do. I’m here to help you see your part clearly , without shame , so you can choose differently. You don’t have to be fearless. You just have to be willing. Willing to feel awkward, sit with discomfort, own your part, and try something new even when it’s slow. If that’s you, we’ll do good work together.

Brainspotting
Brainspotting works on the theory that feelings from trauma can become stuck in the body, leading to physical and mental ailments. It is believed that the brain’s memory of particular trauma or incident is "reset" in the body and brain. Through Brainspotting, you uncover what is occurring with that stuck trauma.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors all impact each other, so making a change to thinking or behavior will have an effect on the other two components. CBT interventions target either thoughts or behaviors in order to interrupt problematic cycle occurring.
Strength-Based
This focuses on abilities, knowledge and capacities rather than deficits, or things that are lacking in a person. It focuses on capability of growth, learning and change.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Change is pivotal and needed, and you are the smartest person in your life to know what you need to solve your issues.

Uchechi, allows me to dig deep into my motivation's for acting a certain way and judging myself vs complimenting myself for doing a good job. She's assisted me in separating my physical limitations by recognizing my overall work around's andsuccesses.
