Hello, I'm Elizabeth, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and your compassionate guide on the journey to improved mental well-being. I am a therapist who believes in creating a safe space for you to be yourself, free from judgment. I am a compassionate and accepting therapist, dedicated to building a trusting connection with you during our sessions. Together, we'll navigate the marathon of therapy with honesty and authenticity. Let's connect and make magic happen!
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, get to know each other and make sure that we both believe to be a good fit for one another. We will discuss a few challenges that you are facing, and this will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. We will go at a comfortable pace and only discuss what is needed, shared and appropriate.
I thrive on forming positive connections with my clients, creating a welcoming and professional environment in every session. I am a compassionate and understanding therapist who believes in walking in the shoes of my clients, offering a safe space without judgment or force, where I can truly empathize and help them on their journey toward healing and growth.
I have been working with clients that are dealing with symptoms of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stuck in their comfort zones etc. My job is to create a safe and supportive environment for anyone that is ready to share and be heard and eager to learn new skills.
CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and that negative thought patterns can contribute to emotional distress and behavioral issues. In CBT, therapists work with clients to: Identify Negative Thought Patterns, Challenge and Reframe Thoughts, Behavioral strategies, skill-building, etc.
The central idea behind CFT is that many individuals struggle with self-criticism and a lack of self-compassion, which can lead to emotional distress and reinforce negative thought patterns. By cultivating compassion—toward oneself and others—CFT aims to promote emotional well-being and reduce psychological suffering. Key techniques: Compassionate imagery, compassionate self-talk, affectional breathing, mindfulness etc.
The word "dialectical" refers to the idea of synthesizing opposites. In DBT, this means balancing acceptance and change. Therapist will validate a client's emotional experiences (acceptance) while also encouraging them to change problematic behaviors (change). This balance helps reduce emotional dysregulation and increases the client’s sense of self-efficacy.
Focused on providing clients with a safe, nurturing environment where they can feel understood and supported. It is particularly helpful for clients who may be experiencing emotional distress, those with anxiety or depression, or individuals who are navigating life transitions or dealing with chronic stress.
