Hello. I went to school in Humboldt County & Sacramento & now live in the SF Bay Area. I’ve been practicing for 8 years with 150+ clients with various backgrounds & experiences. Some have goals of processing traumas and others simply want to elevate their self esteem or set goals for their lives. I’ve found that talk therapy is very effective when we work together to see how to improve your overall quality of life.
I like to begin therapy by getting to know you as a person, answering any questions you have about me or therapy, and building a working alliance together.
I’ve worked with many people & feel that I can empathize and help you through difficult times and create goals for a more fulfilling life, feeling better each day, reducing stress, and working through life changes.
I’ve worked with many people who are burned out at work or want a life change. I’ve had experience with young adults who are starting out in life. Even if you’ve never been diagnosed with any specific mental health concern, you're welcome to come in and get help as you need it.
I have 6 years of specific experience with trauma informed care, PTSD, & its effects on the body, mind & spirit. I’ve worked in middle schools, with older teens & adults, in a gender health center, with dual diagnosis clients, and spent a few years doing Telehealth after Covid with adults. I have experience with grief, loss, life changes, and most everything between. I have experience with neurotypical & neurospicy clients & clients with chronic medical issues. I believe that most symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger issues, phobias, OCD, ADHD, relational issues, and more are caused by lifetime experiences. Often I find talking through issues to be more helpful and effective use of the time you’re paying for. If you’d like to use homework after sessions, I have a lot of resources! If you hate homework, I won’t give you any. Processing emotions & experiences in session can be very effective. I’m trained in CBT, Strength Based & Solution Focused Therapies, Psycho-dynamic or Relational Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Gender-Affirming Care, and DBT for emotional regulation and relationship skills.
This is a newer form of psychotherapy that focuses on helping people to accept their thoughts and feelings, rather than trying to change them, and then actively commit to behaviors that align with their core values, leading to a more fulfilling life.
I use traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as it is one of the most proven ways to reduce symptoms & make progress on your goals.
