Hello! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned my Master’s from USC in 2014. If anxiety or depression has made you feel disconnected from who you are, I am here to help. I pride myself on seeing the fullness of every client I work with, embracing life's complexities and dualities to help you navigate your unique path toward healing.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Let's work together in our first session to define your goals for treatment. We will explore your reasons for seeking therapy and your personal history, collaboratively shaping a clear path for the positive changes you wish to make in your life.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I strive to build a safe, welcoming space for my clients to truly open up. Once they feel comfortable, I work closely with them to uncover the root of their issues and create a practical plan for positive change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I specialize in helping individuals who are navigating the weight of anxiety and depression, guiding them to rediscover the beauty within themselves and the world around them. I love collaborating with motivated clients who are eager to step out of their comfort zones, particularly by nurturing self-compassion. If treating yourself with kindness is a struggle, that is a core area I love to help with.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice, I utilize a collaborative and goal-oriented approach to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. By focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, I empower clients to develop practical coping skills, manage distressing emotions, and make tangible, positive changes in their daily lives. Together, we work on identifying cognitive distortions and implementing evidence-based strategies, such as behavioral activation and exposure, to foster personal growth and emotional well-being.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
"I utilize a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approach, which is a collaborative, goal-oriented therapeutic framework focused on building solutions rather than analyzing problems. I operate from the assumption that you are the expert on your own life and already possess the strengths, resources, and skills necessary to create positive change. Instead of focusing on the past or the root causes of distress, I focus our conversations on the present and future, helping you visualize and achieve your desired life.
Faith based therapy
I provide a safe, nurturing space where your faith is not only respected but acts as a pillar of your healing process. Together, we will examine your struggles through a lens of grace, compassion, and redemption. My approach combines evidence-based counseling with spiritual guidance, empowering you to align your mental health journey with your personal faith and values.

It was our first session and the more it progressed, the more comfortable I felt. It's hard to experience that with a therapist off the bat. I'm looking forward to our sessions

Kristy is such a good listener and at the same time helps me look more deeply in to why I act or behave in ways that affect my life so deeply. She helps me sort through life problems giving me tools and ways to think about issues in different ways that challenge me to be better and stronger in life.
