New to Grow
My name is Airy Ramirez, pronounced I-ry. As a licensed therapist, I create a warm and engaging environment where healing and growth naturally unfold. Drawing from my clinical training with a specialized focus on children, families, and veterans, I bring depth and versatility to my practice. I believe in meeting clients exactly where they are, while gently guiding them toward their goals with compassion and expertise. Understanding the demands of modern life, I offer flexible scheduling including evening appointments, alongside secure online and phone sessions.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session is about creating a comfortable foundation. We'll get to know each other in a relaxed, conversational way while I listen to what brings you to therapy. I'll ask thoughtful questions about your background, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a warm, emotionally safe space where clients feel truly seen, understood, and supported. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as EFT, ACT, and compassion-focused therapy to help clients move beyond coping and into meaningful, lasting change. With a strong background working with children, families, and veterans, I bring a deep understanding of attachment, trauma, and emotional regulation into every session. Clients often tell me they feel more connected to themselves and others, more confident in their choices, and better equipped to manage anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My approach is both structured and deeply human, meeting clients where they are while gently guiding them toward the life they want to build.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with diverse age groups, from young children to adults, helping with anxiety, depression, attachment challenges, trauma, personal growth, and life transitions. I offer flexible scheduling, including evening appointments, to make quality mental health care accessible.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop psychological flexibility and move toward lives guided by their values rather than their symptoms. In my work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and serious mental illness, I use ACT strategies such as mindfulness, cognitive defusion, and acceptance to help clients change their relationship with distressing thoughts and emotions instead of becoming stuck in avoidance or self-criticism. I also emphasize values clarification and values-based action, supporting clients in identifying what matters most to them and taking meaningful steps forward even when discomfort is present, which promotes long-term resilience, engagement, and recovery.
Compassion Focused
I use Compassion-Focused Therapy to help clients reduce shame, self-criticism, and emotional threat responses that often underlie anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use. In my work, I support clients in developing self-compassion, emotional safety, and soothing skills through mindfulness, compassionate imagery, and reframing harsh self-talk. This approach helps clients build a kinder, more supportive relationship with themselves, which increases emotional regulation, motivation, and their ability to engage in healing and meaningful change.
Couples Counseling
In couples counseling, I help partners improve communication, rebuild trust, and develop healthier patterns of connection by identifying the underlying emotions, needs, and beliefs that drive conflict. I support couples in learning how to express themselves more clearly, listen with empathy, and navigate disagreements in a way that feels respectful and collaborative. My approach focuses on strengthening emotional safety, increasing mutual understanding, and helping couples work together toward shared goals and a more secure, supportive relationship.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help individuals and couples understand the deeper emotional needs and attachment patterns that shape their relationships. In my work, I support clients in identifying and expressing vulnerable emotions, recognizing unhelpful interaction cycles, and creating more secure, emotionally responsive connections. This approach helps clients move out of conflict, distance, or disconnection and into greater trust, emotional safety, and closeness.
