I ONLY SEE ADULT CLIENTS and I DON'T SEE COUPLES. I’ve wanted to be a therapist since I was 18; I knew that I was a very self-aware, emotionally sensitive, and insightful individual. I have a genuine desire to get to know each client as a human being. I find it very easy to listen to others and am interested in solving personal problems. I like to observe and analyze people. In high school, my friends always confided in me about their problems because they saw that I was trustworthy. Before becoming a therapist, I was a medic in the US Army. Whether you are struggling with porn and sex addiction, depression, anxiety, or trauma, I’m honored to support you. I specialize in helping adults get to know themselves and feel empowered to advocate for their well-being. As we work together, you will reflect, expand your awareness, and gain tools to manage adversity and grow.

I’m a first-generation, Vietnamese, transgender, and queer therapist who brings both professional training and lived experience to the work. My approach is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story. In my practice, I often draw from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process trauma and experiences in a way that feels restorative. EMDR supports the brain’s natural healing by using bilateral stimulation—like eye or auditory movements —to reprocess memories and reduce their emotional intensity. I also use Narrative Therapy, which invites clients to explore the stories they’ve been told or have come to believe about themselves. Together, we uncover how those stories were shaped—by culture, relationships, systems, or past experiences—and work toward reclaiming narratives that center resilience, agency, and authenticity. I understand the importance of creating a space where clients feel seen, affirmed, and safe to show up as their full selves. Whether you’re navigating trauma, identity exploration, or simply seeking to reconnect with yourself, I’m here support you in that process with care, collaboration, and accountability. Are you looking for a mental health letter for gender-affirming surgery? I write those! Feel free to reach out for short-term therapy services to complete the letter assessment process with me. My practice uses old fashioned, human-generated tools and information methodically accumulated over years of community and evidenced based research. I do not use AI programs at any point in the therapeutic process. *I am not currently accepting family, couples, or group counseling inquiries* *Pls inquire about my reduced rate spots at $150/hr*

Hi! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California, passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University, where I deepened my understanding of human emotions and relationships. Over the past three years, I’ve been honored to support adults who are struggling with anxiety and depression, guiding them on a journey toward healing in both the private practice setting and hospital setting. In my practice, I focus on empowering individuals to become the best versions of themselves. Many of the clients I work with feel weighed down by past traumas or overwhelming stressors. By replacing these beliefs with adaptive ones, my clients are able to rebuild their self-esteem, cultivate self-love, and approach life with a renewed sense of purpose and confidence. I understand that seeking therapy is a courageous step, and I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. After a career of providing services to disenfranchised folks on Medi-Cal, students in a high-achieving high school in the Bay Area, and a small agency, I've found that fostering trusting and supportive relationships goes a long way in being a therapist. In the (virtual) therapy room, you can expect me to be an animated and relatively lighthearted therapist; I pride myself on bringing my genuine self into our therapeutic relationship, and my genuine self is someone who's curious and playful. Milton Erickson said, "patients have grim enough lives, let's not give them grim therapy, too." And while I resonate deeply with this quote, you can expect me to always supply the respect and compassion you deserve when you decide to share about something grim.

A quote that has always brought me courage, "Into the Great Perhaps," moves us to embrace the unknown. It's an invitation to dream and a challenge to have the courage to step into uncertainty. This concept deeply resonates with my therapeutic approach. I emphasize that embracing uncertainty is where growth and transformation occur. In therapy, we'll explore the uncharted territories of your thoughts, emotions, and relationships and view life's challenges as opportunities for personal growth. Together, we'll journey toward self-discovery and personal development. Life is filled with uncertainties, and navigating the intricacies of relationships can often resemble an unmapped voyage. Yet, within these unknowns lies the potential for healing and transformation. Let's uncover what the "Great Perhaps" means for you. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with years of experience, I provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for you to explore your experiences. I firmly believe in the resilience of the human spirit and our capacity for positive change, even amidst adversity.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
