I am a Filipina-American passionate about supporting young working and non-working adults, people who are going through life transitions in need of direction and the ability to build a relationship with their full truth to create a fulfilling life of purpose, alignment, and balance. I care deeply about providing a warm and safe place to assist clients in exploring their mind/body connection and accept ALL emotional experiences life brings their way through shadow work, which is the process of exploring and integrating unconscious blocks, including repressed emotions, desires, and behaviors, to foster personal growth and healing. I earned my undergraduate degree and graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mount Saint Mary's University. I am registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT #141973.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
My approach to therapy comes from the framework of Carl Jung. Jung’s school of thought with the process of individuation as a kind of mythology that we're walking through and at any moment we can step back and see where we are in the story. We learn to pay attention to details instead of categorizing or compartmentalizing and use symbolic language to attune many layers of self. We will build active relationships with each concept- one that evolves and grows with you over time. This type of therapy is not a quick fix, but an ongoing conversation and unfolding based on the client's own pace. My goal is to help people find "home" and be used as a guidepost along the way. Jungian/Depth Psychology brings the mind, spirit, and body together. You will learn the nature of the inner self- inner child, higher self, and other archetypes, as well as the much bigger outside self that Jung called the collective unconscious. I will assist in processing how to live in the gray area or in other words, building "emotional discomfort tolerance"- releasing black and white thinking that judges emotions or self into ALL good or ALL bad categories. Taking the bad with the good, holding space for BOTH with an open heart, and gain balance, clarity, and centeredness in the self. We will find the source wound- mentally process it, actively shift it through our bodies in the present, bringing together a wholeness in healing- mind, spirit, and body together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have experience working with diverse backgrounds and identities. As a Jungian therapist, I believe in the value of understanding the cultural, social, and spiritual contexts within which clients exist, and how those identities inform their unique set of strengths and challenges. I have extensive experience in dream tending/subconscious healing techniques, narrative therapy, attachment theory, mindfulness techniques. As an intuitive & holistic therapist, I wish to add a spiritual dimension to my work. Through dream tending we will access the potential of your dreams to engage your innate genius, bring awareness to feelings/emotions through narratives, and build relationships and connections to the world around you through a new and dynamic perspective. I believe triggers are the body's way of alerting us to change. More often than not, trauma becomes a catalyst for change. On one end this is wanted and needed, but on the other end, this is terrifying and deeply uncomfortable. We often do anything to avoid shame or guilt. However, avoidance of "icky feelings" causes us to create unhealthy coping strategies which then develop into repeated life patterns, leaving you feeling stuck in the same cycle by attracting the same themes. Depression and anxiety symptoms run rampant in this state. As your therapist, I will listen to your story deeply, with compassion, while also using evidence-based techniques of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to support self-understanding and accept your difficult feelings. Emotional regulation skills can actively improve handling conflicts and identifying needs.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have predominantly assisted those who have symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-esteem issues, and codependency- in particular, though not limited to femme-identifying people. I treat relational trauma, intimacy concerns, grief/abandonment, identity issues, life functioning, and transitions. My style of therapy tends to be a good fit for those who possess the innate hunger to know more about the self through a spiritual quest. They will gain the ability to find support around what needs to thrive and what needs to be released.
Jungian
Providing psychotherapy that focuses on exploring the unconscious mind through techniques like dream analysis, symbol interpretation, and "shadow work" to integrate repressed parts of the self, ultimately aiming to help individuals achieve personal growth and self-realization by aligning their conscious and unconscious aspects of their personality; it heavily utilizes concepts like archetypes and the collective unconscious, developed by Carl Jung, the founder of this approach.

Janelle has been my therapist for about a year now and she has helped me tremendously. She's always gives great solutions and has an understanding about myself. I would recommend her to anyone around my age, which is 24, but I'm sure she could help anyone in need. I'm thankful to have her as my therapist.

Janelle is amazing. I have grown and healed so much during my time with her. She has a unique approach, incorporating holistic techniques into her practice. She knows how to balance meeting you where you're at, while also challenging you to up level at your own pace. I am very grateful that I found Janelle when I did. She has helped me so much.
