LMFT, 5 years of experience
Hi! I'm Wen. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I help adults who are struggling to deal with everyday stressors and burnout. I empathetically listen to what you have to share and want to fully understand your situation before working collaboratively on solutions. I consider myself a direct person and try to break down the concepts that I teach into easily understood ideas.
Clients should expect me to be the authentic version of myself. I have been often told that there is a presence about me that makes them more open to sharing.
As a therapist, I am very direct and teach using a lot of metaphors. I consider myself pretty good at reading between the lines of what you are saying and not saying. I am also great at summarizing what I am hearing as the major themes of our conversation.
I believe in fully understanding your experience and actively listening before offering ideas to you. The best clients for me are those who are new to therapy or prefer someone to be direct with them.

Wen Soon’s therapy style had the perfect balance of professionalism and encouragement. I found his use of anecdotes and analogies really helpful in addressing my circumstances and how I was feeling at the time. Can’t recommend his sessions enough.

I love how Wen brings out things in me that I don't even see or think out. He is patient, a good listener, and continues to challenge me. He gives great advice and helps me feel a lot better at the end of each session.

I really appreciate Wen’s ability to listen to my challenges, respond back summarizing the challenges in a way that made them more clear for me and let me know he properly understood me, and then develop a plan for how to address the challenges. I like his focus on mindfulness and grounding and making therapy and therapy talk engaging at each person’s level and comfortability.
