Hello ! I am Sergio Fernando Gueller, LCSW, I am an American citizen and love our Blessed country with all my heart; I am also an immigrant from Latin America, Argentina, who arrived to this country at age 19 (I am currently 65), "tired and poor" and escaping an unstable political environment and difficult socioeconomic perspectives. I completed my training in Europe and Latin America through my participation in many seminars and obtaining several certifications in this field, however, all my formal education took place in California and Oregon, in the USA. My approach to psychotherapy is eclectic and practical and am focused on providing immediate alleviation and crisis resolution to my clients via powerful cognitive/behavioral tools which I use daily in my practice. I am a simple person and my approach is formal and respectful, however, I use respectful/sensitive humor and levity therapeutically when appropriate as I believe it is a major part of my method.

I view human beings through a lens of compassion, meaning, and balance. I believe that the ways we understand ourselves are shaped by our relationships, culture, and societal constructs, and that these influences play a significant role in how we make meaning of our experiences. At my core, I believe people are inherently capable of growth, even when pain, trauma, or circumstance have led them away from their values. I recognize the dualities that exist within life—the coexistence of light and darkness, suffering and healing, strength and vulnerability—and I believe that love serves as the canvas upon which our lives unfold. While experiences can cultivate resilience, wisdom, and character, they can also leave lasting wounds. For this reason, I value helping others move toward balance, self-understanding, and healing, believing that equilibrium is often the safest and most sustainable place from which to live and grow.

Hello, I am Jennifer. I am a licensed therapist with over 25 years of experience supporting people of all ages through various transitions and challenges. I offer a unique approach to mental health that integrates clinical therapy with moderate physical exercise in the great outdoors. I focus on helping people with anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress/burnout, infertility and alcohol misuse while increasing nourishing habits such as exercise, sleep, nutrition, and other practices that reduce symptoms and calm the nervous system. Have you ever wished you could get in-person therapy without having to sit in an office with the therapist? Do you feel too busy to schedule both therapy and exercise into one day and wish the two could be combined? If so, then "walk and talk" could be a good fit for you. I offer the opportunity to receive counseling or coaching while outside in nature and moving your body. Research demonstrates that both exercise and spending time outdoors in sunlight and green spaces provides a reduction in symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and stress while improving mood overall. My unique "walk and talk" method addresses all three aspects of healing and growth: physical, psychological, and spiritual. Have you found yourself wondering if you are drinking too much and/or too often? Are you tired of experiencing low energy, anxiety, depression, disrupted sleep, sugar cravings, etc. and you wish you had a coach to support you as you navigate a new way of living alcohol free? If you are sober curious, I am here to help!

Hello, I’m Kim Paylor, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), school counselor, and clinical supervisor with a diverse background in mental health, education, case management, and student support services. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with children, teens, adults, veterans, families, and young adults across school, community, and clinical settings. My experience includes working as a school counselor, special education resource teacher, therapist in private practice and telehealth settings, and clinical case manager within the HUD-VASH program supporting veterans. Prior to entering the mental health field, I also spent many years working in customer service, payroll, human resources, and university settings, which has given me a strong understanding of life stressors, workplace challenges, relationships, parenting, and major life transitions. I bring warmth, compassion, authenticity, and real-world understanding into the counseling relationship. I specialize in anxiety, emotional wellness, trauma-informed care, self-esteem, stress management, and helping clients develop healthier coping skills, emotional resilience, and greater confidence in themselves and their lives. My strongest area of focus is supporting adolescents, teens, and adults between the ages of 11–45. My therapeutic style is highly person-centered, supportive, and collaborative. While I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care, I strive to create a counseling experience that feels approachable, practical, empowering, and genuinely supportive rather than overly clinical or judgmental. I believe therapy works best when clients feel truly heard, valued, and comfortable being themselves. I often incorporate guidance, emotional support, skill-building, and strengths-based strategies to help clients not only process challenges, but also build confidence, self-awareness, resilience, and practical tools they can apply in everyday life. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel supported, empowered, and encouraged as they work toward healing, balance, and meaningful change.

In my work I like to meet people where they are at and together, we'll explore the patterns that keep showing up in your life, the stress they create, and the ways they may be affecting your relationships, your body, and your sense of self. We will look beneath the surface, pay attention to what your nervous system may be communicating, and use the therapeutic relationship itself as a space for growth, healing, and self-discovery. I bring that same grounded, real-life energy into my work, creating a space that feels comfortable, supportive, and easy to show up in. Through my own life experiences, I’ve learned how to cope with challenging transitions and navigate relationship struggles, which allows me to show up in a genuine and grounded way with my clients. I’m passionate about helping young women navigate anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, and relationship struggles. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start, just showing up is enough. Together, we focus on building self-worth, setting healthy boundaries, and helping you feel more confident, grounded, and aligned in your life and relationships.

I’m a trauma-informed therapist who helps adults heal from anxiety, trauma, burnout, and painful relationship patterns using EMDR therapy and a mind-body approach. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck in cycles of self-doubt, overwhelm, or disconnection, appearing “fine” on the outside while feeling anything but on the inside. My goal is to create a safe, grounding space where you can explore what’s beneath the surface, release what’s been weighing you down, and reconnect with the most authentic version of yourself. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is at the heart of my work. It’s an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. Through gentle bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping), the mind can integrate painful experiences in a more adaptive way. Clients often describe EMDR as life-changing- it allows healing to occur on a deeper, neurological level, often when talk therapy alone hasn’t been enough. My style is collaborative, intuitive, and compassionate. I’ll meet you exactly where you are, while gently challenging patterns that no longer serve you. Together, we’ll help you feel safe in your body, clear in your mind, and at peace within yourself.

Hi there! Do you feel pulled in a million directions? Many times unable to complete tasks? Are you struggling with life’s challenges, relationships, work and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? I would like to help and support your journey of improvement and how you’re feeling. I am a " Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)." I have received my Master’s Degree in Counseling with an emphasis on individual, ‘Marriage and Family Therapy’, from California State University Long Beach. I specialize with individuals experiencing life challenges, depression, anxiety, and addictions/substance use. This includes challenges such as depression, anxiety, stress management, family dynamics, addiction, and overall life management. My approach is compassionate, professional, and tailored to each person’s unique needs. I am fluent in languages: English, Farsi, and Pashto. Traveling throughout Europe, living in Asia and South America has brought on cultural sensitivity my understanding of how the diverse backgrounds and how life experiences influence the way we think, feel, and navigate our lives. I bring this perspective into my work, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, strengths-based, and mindfulness approaches to support clients in ways that are practical, respectful, and individualized. Together will consider all life's transitions, then explore what areas in your life need to improve, identify the necessary tools and coping skills that best work. This will help you to a more balanced life. I will also utilize a holistic and client-centered approach by focusing on empathy for my clients, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. Therefore, I aim to create a safe trusting space to help overcome issues and highlight your strengths leading to growth. Life can be easier, fun, and blissful! Clients have described my approach as thoughtful, compassionate, creative, and reliable with a calming demeanor and a steady strength-based, supportive presence.

You’re doing your best—but fear, anxiety, or overthinking keeps getting in the way. You feel weighted down & blocked from opening up. You bottle emotions & ignore that empty feeling. You drift further & further away from your family and friends. You feel irritated & quick to anger - it's affecting your ability to focus and your school, work, and relationships are suffering as a result. You feel exhausted from all the worry, panic, and anxiety. You can't sleep & your head hurts from the overthinking about all the "things" you need to do or can't do. When you do sleep, you wake up feeling tired, in a bad mood, and dreading the day. Fear sets in that you're about to lose everything, even the people closest in your life. You try so hard but you're scared. You feeling more and more frustrated that you're not living the life wanted. You just want the anxiety and rollercoaster of emotions to stop. You just want to have peace, be happy, and able to relax again. Here's where I come in. I’m Tammy Brooks LMFT, a Solution Focused Brief Therapy Certified Level 3 Practitioner. I help adults find joy, connection, & peace again by using an approach is different than therapy with endless talk, rehashing pain & no real lasting change. Instead, we'll focus on want to achieve in therapy and talk about that version of yourself despite the problems you are facing.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Addiction?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Addiction, is filtering therapists in California that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
