I've spend 14 years working with adolescents but i also having experience working with veterans and people with addiction.
I've worked with people that have PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, anger issues, drug and alcohol addictions; I've also facilitated various groups in schools and in psychiatric facilities. If you are looking for someone that focuses on themes of Existentialism, I am not your person. I like to focus on concrete goals that are measurable and observable.
First session
In our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another. I'll explain how i operate and answer any question you may have; this will be a time to see if you and I will be a good fit
Strengths
I've never felt that I'm the expert in my client's life and I'm here to "cure" them. I see myself as a guide in your journey to reach your goals. I tend to build rapport quickly and I also don't try to take myself very seriously
Ideal clients
I love working with teens (high school age) to young adults; in particular, I work with clients who have anger issues, depressive symptoms and substance use;
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Most of my training has been utilizing CBT due to the correlation between feelings, thoughts and actions; however, research shows that above all disciplines, the therapeutic alliance has a more significant impact
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I believe the client has the strength and resilience to achieve the goals they set; the client has the solution to overcome
