(she/her)
Hi, I’m Autumn Brock, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over five years of experience in the mental health field. My passion for this work is rooted in personal experiences that taught me the importance of compassion, resilience, and genuine human connection. Those lessons continue to shape my approach as a therapist today. I earned my BSW and MSW from California State University, Chico, and have had the privilege of working in community mental health and substance use treatment, supporting individuals through a wide range of life challenges. My approach is person-centered and grounded in empathy, curiosity, and collaboration drawing from evidence-based practices to meet you where you are. I believe therapy is a space for honesty, growth, and rediscovery, a place to feel seen, supported, and understood. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or ready for change, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing, balance, and self-compassion. Let's connect.
In our first session, my goal is to help you feel safe and supported. Starting therapy brings up many emotions; we will move at your pace. You do not have to have it all figured out. I meet you right where you are. We will start with introductions and discuss what brings you here. This is your space to be heard. To build a strong foundation, we will complete a behavioral health assessment looking at your history, symptoms, and environment to see the whole picture. My approach is collaborative and conversational, grounded in four core frameworks: Humanistic: I provide unconditional positive regard, viewing you as a whole person capable of self-actualization. The Strengths Model: We focus on your internal resilience and unique capabilities to drive your healing. Systems Theory: We explore how relationships, family, and environment impact you. Developmental Theory: We look at how life stages shaped your coping tools. Together, we will map out your goals and next steps.
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and genuine human connection. I view our work through a humanistic lens, providing unconditional positive regard to create a safe, judgment-free space where you feel truly seen, understood, and accepted. I see therapy as a collaborative partnership where we move at your pace. Using the Strengths Model, we will focus on your internal resilience and unique capabilities to drive your healing. Because no one exists in a vacuum, I integrate Systems and Developmental theories to explore how your relationships, environment, and past life stages have shaped your current coping tools and experiences. My style is integrative, drawing from evidence-based practices like Harm Reduction to offer practical, compassionate tools for sustainable, real-world change without judgment. I practice with cultural humility, honoring your unique identity. My hope is that you feel empowered as you move toward healing and self-understanding.
I do my best work with clients who are ready to understand themselves on a deeper level, even if they’re not fully sure where to start. My ideal client is someone navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or identity-related stress who is open to reflection and willing to build insight over time. They may feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or like they’ve spent much of their life taking care of others and are now trying to figure out how to take care of themselves. Many of the clients I connect with have high expectations for themselves, experience guilt or pressure tied to family, culture, or past roles, and may struggle with control, perfectionism, or feeling “not enough.” They are often insightful and resilient, but need support slowing down, identifying patterns, and developing more effective ways to cope. I value working with clients who are open to collaboration, appreciate a balance of validation and gentle challenge, and are interested in building practical skills they can use in their daily lives. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning to it, I aim to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful, lasting changes.

I identify as
Trauma Informed Care
While this category was the only option provided by the platform to acknowledge my skills and experience in Healing Centered Engagement, I want to note that no one can ever be fully informed about another person’s unique experience of trauma. My approach comes from a place of humility, empathy, and respect for each individual’s story. My clinical background and therapeutic approach recognize the many ways trauma can impact both mental and physical health. Trauma may manifest in our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships, as well as within the body itself. I draw on my personal experiences with childhood trauma to foster a deeper connection with my clients, using those insights as a therapeutic tool to enhance empathy and understanding in our sessions.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I focus on creating a supportive and collaborative space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. In my practice, we work through the core components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills help clients manage emotions, build resilience, and improve communication in their relationships. I’m continually inspired by the progress my clients make through this approach, including reduced anxiety and depression, increased self-esteem, and stronger connections with themselves and others. DBT techniques are practical and easy to integrate into daily life, supporting growth both in and outside of therapy.
Attachment-based
Attachment-based therapy explores how our early relationships shape emotional well-being and how those patterns continue to influence us throughout life. I believe that understanding these dynamics is key to creating lasting healing and change. In my practice, I provide a safe and supportive space to explore your attachment style and how it impacts current relationships and emotional responses. Together, we work to build healthier connections, foster trust, and strengthen your relationship with yourself and others. I’ve seen clients experience meaningful transformation through this process—gaining insight, breaking unhelpful patterns, and forming deeper, more fulfilling relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my work with clients, I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help them understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns, explore what might be keeping you stuck, and practice ways to shift toward more balanced and supportive thinking. CBT helps build awareness of how thoughts influence emotions and daily experiences. I guide clients in learning tools to reframe negative thinking, strengthen problem-solving skills, and improve emotional regulation. Over time, clients often report feeling more grounded, confident, and capable of managing life’s challenges. I integrate CBT techniques with other evidence-based approaches, tailoring our work to your unique needs, goals, and lived experiences. My goal is to create a safe and collaborative space where you feel heard and supported while building practical skills you can use both in and out of session to improve your overall well-being. CBT is one of the core approaches I integrate into therapy to support lasting growth and resilience.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness-based approaches invite us to slow down and become more aware of our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment. In my practice, I incorporate mindfulness techniques to help clients reduce stress, regulate emotions, and build a stronger connection between mind and body. Together, we explore ways to bring awareness and compassion to your experiences without judgment. Mindfulness can help interrupt cycles of worry, self-criticism, and emotional reactivity, creating space for greater calm and clarity. I integrate mindfulness with other therapeutic methods, encouraging clients to develop daily practices that support emotional balance and resilience. Over time, mindfulness helps strengthen your ability to respond rather than react, enhancing self-awareness and overall well-being both in and outside of session. Mindfulness is a gentle yet powerful tool for reconnecting with yourself and fostering lasting inner peace.
