Welcome! My name's Becca. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Breakthrough Counseling. I’ll provide a warm, supportive, safe, and professional space for you to feel comfortable delving into difficult past and present situations, in order to pave a new, happier, and healthier way forward. I bring warmth, curiosity, compassion, and humor to every session. My style is collaborative and down-to-earth. I’m not here to give you all the answers, but to help you explore and uncover your own. The first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and start building the foundation for our work together—you’re welcome to share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. You’ll learn more about my style as a therapist and my approach to therapy, and you’re welcome to ask questions at any time. We’ll begin to identify your goals and discuss how we can work collaboratively to accomplish those goals throughout the course of treatment. The session will feel like an open conversation and is a space for you to see whether it feels like a safe and supportive environment for ongoing work together.
My life experiences have instilled in me a genuine desire to help others. They’ve shaped the way I approach every person and situation—with empathy, compassion, and without judgment. My approach to therapy is Eclectic, meaning I draw from a range of evidence-based treatment methods and interventions tailored to your unique journey, goals, and needs. Similarly, I will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan; thus, the modalities I use may shift as you grow and progress, and will vary from session to session to support what you need in each moment.
While I’m trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, my style is primarily rooted in Narrative Therapy. As a Narrative therapist, I practice with the belief that you are the expert in your own life, and my role as a therapist is to serve as a guide as you re-author your personal narrative with intention and meaning.
Your life journey shapes how you see the world. However, often thoughts get distorted along the way, leading to unhealthy thinking patterns. Through CBT, we will work to refute cognitive distortions, change unhelpful behaviors, and build new ways of coping.
By learning to accept thoughts and feelings without judgment, creating distance from them, and taking committed action aligned with your personal values, ACT helps you live a full and meaningful life.

Becca has been an amazing therapist, and I have no intention on changing therapists any time soon. Becca is open, and kind. Authentic. She challenges me, but in a way that doesn’t make me feel pressured. I feel like I’m free to express myself without judgement. More importantly, I feel like she helps me change and grow. I don’t feel like I’m just talking to talk. We work together to make changes and look at how my past has shaped who I am. I can’t say enough good things about her!
