New to Grow
Hello, I am Teresa Mills a Licenced Marriage and Family therapist in California. Are you looking for a space that offers openness, support, and understanding? Together we can create a safe space free of judgement, and tailored to your therapeutic needs, and paced at your progression. I focus on strengths and not just symptoms. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and intended to support meaningful lasting individual growth.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Many clients may feel nervous about the first session -thats completly normal. My goal is to create a space of comfort and understanding. Together can have a conversation about goals for therapy and complete the intake process.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I integrate psychodynamic therapy to explore underlying patterns, and help gain insight. Cognitive behavioral therapy is goal oriented, and focused on identifying thought patterns and behaviors that are not helpful in your lives. Together we can develop coping skills to manage challenges.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My clients are a good fit if your'e feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or depressed. Many of my clients are thoughtful, strong, and capable individuals who hold space for others, but dont always feel supported themselves. I work best with clients who want to understand not only what is happening in their lives but why. Do you want to gain more insight and lasting change?
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice, I use CBT to help clients identify how their thoughts influence their emotions and actions. Together we can develop healthier more balanced ways to responding to difficult situations. We can focus on behavioral stategies as skill-building, and problem solving.
Psychodynamic
Psychodynamic work focuses on exploring unconscious patterns, attachment styles, defense mechanisms, and impact of relational experiences. I help clients recognize how past experiences shape present-day reactions, relationships, and emotional regulation.
