California State University Stanislaus of Social Work, Master's in Social Work License LCSW# 76744 18 Years of experience Hello! My name is Robert Garza, LCSW Bi-lingual. I have over 18 years of experience working with clients ranging from early childhood, adolescence, children/families, adults, and end-of-life care. I have always viewed my professional career to learn as much as possible and be able to impact the largest number of people in need of support, counseling, therapy, and a safe space. I have worked in educational settings, healthcare settings, and clinical settings. I was born in Corcoran and raised in Central California. I currently reside in Rocklin CA, and enjoy horseshoe pitching, long walks, the ocean, and family and friends. My historical area of focus ranges from challenges in school to overcoming childhood traumas, depression, anxiety, social isolation, and conflict within family units. These are common things that we all face as we grow and evolve into our adult selves.
I love people, learning about people, what their passions are, their pain, and their goals, and supporting the process of each teen discovering the best version of themselves! I am outgoing, easy to talk to, and passionate about helping teens find support during times they are confronted with challenges. I am here to remind you that you are human and doing the best you can. There is help if you want it, and that is what I am here for! I aim to listen, support, and give you the confidence and tools that you may feel are holding you back.
My specialties include grief, anxiety, depression, anger management, men's issues, substance abuse addiction, and working with the Hispanic population.
I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a person-centered approach but do hold the belief that one therapy approach does not fit all. Therefore, I typically bring into therapy different aspects of many modalities, including problem-solving therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, among others.
