California State University Stanislaus of Social Work, Master's in Social Work License LCSW# 76744 23 Years of experience Hello! My name is Robert Garza, LCSW Bi-lingual. I have over 18 years of experience working with clients ranging from early childhood, adolescence, children/families, adults, and end-of-life care. I have always viewed my professional career to learn as much as possible and be able to impact the largest number of people in need of support, counseling, therapy, and a safe space. I have worked in educational settings, healthcare settings, and clinical settings. I was born in Corcoran and raised in Central California. I currently reside in Rocklin CA, and enjoy horseshoe pitching, long walks, the ocean, and family and friends. My historical area of focus ranges from challenges in school to overcoming childhood traumas, depression, anxiety, social isolation, and conflict within family units. These are common things that we all face as we grow and evolve into our adult selves.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My specialties include grief, anxiety, depression, anger management, men's issues, substance abuse addiction, and working with the Hispanic population.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love working with young professionals who are in the first few years of their careers. My clients are eager to improve but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about their careers. Hispanic clients
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a person-centered approach but do hold the belief that one therapy approach does not fit all. Therefore, I typically bring into therapy different aspects of many modalities, including problem-solving therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, among others.

Robert is very patient and lets me paint the pictures I deem necessary to convey my thoughts comprehensively. He remembers a lot of details from what we talk about in session which makes me feel heard and helps us to continue our dialogue to a further extent each time. Our conversations feel natural and not constrained by a specific modality or curriculum that other therapists often have failed to be less obvious about.

I found Dr. Robert to be very warm, calm and easy to speak with. He has a very engaging approach and got to the heart of what I was looking to resolve.

I really enjoyed my session. I didn’t feel judged and I felt a safe space to open up about my thoughts and emotions. Highly recommend him. Especially if it’s your first time trying therapy like me.
