I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Masters in Social Work from UCLA. I have been serving the community for 28 years working with individuals, children, and families. It gives me great joy to work with clients of all ages and from all walks of life. I also find it meaningful to work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, as I have a multi-ethic back ground, and am multilingual. My specialties include: trauma, depression, self esteem issues, relationship issues, family dynamics, multi-generational issues, adjustment to life situations, stress management, grief, anger management, etc. I value the client-therapist relationship. It is an honor I am being invited and included in this part of your journey! I regard the client-therapist relationship as a partnership. As a therapist, my goal is to empower you in overcoming barriers and pursue the life you deserve. It will require a commitment from both of us to participate and engage in our clinical alliance. It gives me a deep sense of gratification to work with clients who are motivated to move forward. I look forward to our meeting!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard in a non judgmental manner. In our first session, you will be greeted warmly. Together, we will complete an initial assessment in a safe and supportive environment. In addition to learning about what has brought you here, the obstacles you may be facing, your goals, etc., I will answer questions you may have about our collaboration. Most of all, I would really like to make a connection with you, as trust is the foundation for our subsequent therapeutic sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As someone who has gone through trials and tribulations, I know, firsthand, the depth of pain and sorrow. And loneliness. And the like. The hardships I experienced taught me about resilience; It has enabled me to be a compassionate therapist. My sensitivity has enabled me to understand clients' needs. Healing is a process. It requires our willingness to initiate changes. Taking the first step can be challenging, such as seeking professional help, apply for college, etc., as we may anticipate rejection or wonder if we are worthy of something good and beautiful. Or we may believe in other lies. Like a wound care nurse, we need to attend to our wounds and dig deep into the emotional elements. Our old pattern of behaviors may need to be unlearned. Our outdated view of the world and ourselves may need to be adjusted in order to match our new, healthy self. Sometimes we feel stuck or trapped in a situation, but it does not have to stay that way. Deep down, you know your life deserves another chance. This chance is, and has been, waiting for you. Congratulations! You have taken the first step! Now, let’s talk.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I find it fulfilling to work with people who are motivated to make changes but not yet have the tools, know how or where to start, or what steps to take. My clinical interventions aim to: promote healing increase self-awareness recognize ego strengths strengthen communicate skills build resilience assist clients to acquire new coping skills and reconstruct a new self concept, etc

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I empower clients by assisting them to identify and recognize their strengths. People may have made mistakes and/or are being confronted by challenges in life, I assist them to be self-aware of their reactions, barriers, and support them in processing their emotions as well as gaining insights. I support clients in goal setting, developing new problem solving strategies, utilizing the strengths they already possessed. Together, we can tackle the situation/issue and proceed from a new and empowered perspective. Hope is possible.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our past experiences have shaped our beliefs, feelings, thoughts, and behavior. During our session, we will examine and uncover these dynamics. I support clients in gaining insights into their thoughts/beliefs and changing the old unhealthy patterns of thinking. One can construct a new healthy self concept; our life reflects what is within.
