Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. With a passion for supporting individuals, couples, and families to navigate the complexities of relationships and personal growth, I've dedicated my career to fostering a safe and nurturing environment where my clients can explore challenges, heal, and thrive. My approach is grounded in empathy, evidence-based practices, and a deep commitment to understanding each client's unique dynamics and strengths. Whether addressing communication issues, conflict resolution, emotional intimacy, or personal development, I aim to empower my clients to achieve greater harmony, understanding, and fulfillment in their lives and relationships.
In their first session with me, clients can anticipate a warm and supportive atmosphere where they're encouraged to discuss their reasons for seeking therapy, their goals, and any immediate concerns. This initial meeting is centered around establishing a foundation of trust and understanding, highlighting the collaborative nature of our therapeutic relationship. I will explain the therapy process, confidentiality, and how we can work together to address their needs. Clients are invited to share at their comfort level, setting the stage for future sessions where we'll delve deeper into their challenges and aspirations. The aim is for clients to leave this session feeling heard, understood, and optimistic about the journey ahead, with a clear sense of how therapy can support their path to well-being.
My key strengths as a therapist include empathetic listening, creating a non-judgmental environment, and a deep knowledge of enhancing communication among families and couples. Through empathy, I can form a deep connection with my clients, ensuring they feel acknowledged and valued. Establishing trust and understanding is fundamental to the therapy I provide. I am dedicated to fostering an open space where clients can freely express their thoughts and emotions, promoting a setting conducive to healing and personal growth. Furthermore, my proficiency in communication strategies aids in dissolving obstacles, facilitating healthier and more positive exchanges. These capabilities, alongside my commitment to applying evidence-based methods and pursuing ongoing professional growth, equip me to effectively assist my clients in overcoming their difficulties and meeting their therapeutic objectives.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, I specialize in helping couples and families navigate communication issues, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My practice suits those ready to explore and improve their relational dynamics, including couples facing marital difficulties or contemplating changes and families adjusting to new stages or structures. I also support individuals dealing with personal challenges that affect their relationships, such as anxiety or self-esteem issues. My approach is inclusive, welcoming clients from diverse backgrounds and orientations, aiming to foster healthier communication, stronger emotional connections, and resilience in facing life's challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice, I've found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to be an invaluable tool, particularly in its ability to empower clients to recognize and reshape detrimental thought patterns and behaviors. The most rewarding aspect has been witnessing clients gain the skills to challenge their negative self-beliefs and assumptions, significantly improving their mental health and daily functioning. By collaboratively setting goals and utilizing tailored exercises, such as cognitive restructuring and behavioral experiments, clients learn to apply these techniques outside of sessions, fostering resilience and self-efficacy. The transformation observed in clients, from feeling overwhelmed by their circumstances to managing and overcoming their challenges, underscores CBT's effectiveness and positive impact on my therapeutic practice.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support clients in developing psychological flexibility, increasing awareness of internal experiences, and reducing avoidance-based coping patterns. My approach emphasizes mindfulness, cognitive diffusion, values clarification, acceptance strategies, and committed action to help clients respond more effectively to distress while engaging in behaviors aligned with their identified values.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
My approach to Solution-Focused Brief Treatment is collaborative, strengths-based, and goal-directed. I support clients in identifying existing resources, recognizing exceptions to current challenges, and developing practical next steps toward meaningful change. I use interventions such as scaling questions, miracle questions, and future-oriented exploration to help clients build on what is already working and make measurable progress toward treatment goals.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
My approach to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is skills-based, structured, and client-centered. I support clients in strengthening emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness skills to manage intense emotions, reduce impulsive reactions, improve communication, and respond to stressors more effectively. I use DBT interventions to help clients increase self-awareness, practice healthier coping strategies, and build stability in daily functioning and relationships.

After having our first session with Juho, we went from being incredibly anxious to looking forward to learning what we could improve on for our next meeting. Juho is direct, intelligent, and solution-oriented. My husband and I both agree that the first session was eye-opening and gives us a lot of room to improve ourselves as individuals and as a couple.
