LMFT, 4 years of experience
I am a trauma-trained Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, specialized in providing trauma-informed and compassionate-driven care utilizing evidenced-based treatments such as Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat PTSD, depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, addictions, chronic pain, anger, and other trauma-related symptoms. My therapy style focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, supportive, and confidential environment where you can share your life story with me. I am genuinely passionate about mental health and believe that we can integrate our Christian faith into achieving balance and wholeness in our lives. If you're open to it, I would like to support you in exploring a deeper relationship with Christ and in examining Catholic-Christian principles and practices to aid you in your journey of healing and recovery. I emphasize the importance of kindness, compassion, empathy, respect, community, discipleship, family, peer support, and having a safe space to express our love for Jesus Christ.
In our first session, I would like to learn about you, your life story, and what has brought you to therapy. I will gather information about your family history, trauma experiences, current coping mechanisms, and medical history. I will also provide details on the different treatment approaches I use in my practice, discuss the treatment plan, and help create therapy goals.
I practice compassion-driven care, providing a sense of safety and unconditional positive regard during therapy sessions while utilizing skills such as empathy, attunement, respect, active listening, curiosity, and recognizing and validating your life experiences.
I am a trauma-trained therapist specializing in the treatment of PTSD and other trauma-related symptoms. These symptoms can often disrupt various aspects of our lives, including family dynamics, interpersonal relationships, occupational performance, and personal well-being. As a Catholic therapist, I incorporate a faith-based approach to addressing trauma. I help my clients use their faith to navigate their current struggles and guide them in seeking God as the ultimate healer. My goal is to support them in feeling better, and finding wholeness through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I provide psychotherapy that integrates Catholic-Christian faith, psychological science, and my professional expertise as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. As a Catholic therapist, I draw upon the Catholic doctrine and Sacred Scriptures to provide compassionate support to individuals navigating a range of mental health challenges including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. My approach not only acknowledges the psychological dimensions of these struggles but also integrates the Catholic-Christian faith of my clients, fostering a holistic healing experience that addresses both mind and soul.
God created us in wholeness but trauma can cause emotional wounds and pain that stay with us throughout life which can lead to serious emotional, relationship, and physical issues. In therapy, we will look at your childhood upbringing and attachment security, relationship with your main caregiver, and attachment style as an adult. We will explore how you relate to others in your family, work environment, and social relationships. The goal is to earn a secure attachment as an adult, learn healthy communication, and build deeper connections with the people we care about.
I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as an evidenced-based approach to address a wide range of mental health conditions. CBT is grounded in the understanding that our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interlinked leading us to experience mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and stress-related issues. In therapy, we can identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, improve mood, reduce anxiety, improve self-esteem, and build confidence.
In therapy, we will focus on your unique strengths, effective coping strategies, available resources, and the support system around you to aid your healing and recovery journey. We can also develop new strategies, build on your existing strengths, and create effective methods to enhance your mental health and foster healthy interpersonal relationships. Together, we will set meaningful and achievable goals that align with your core values and utilize your individual strengths, empowering you to create positive change in your life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy intervention designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences, such as those associated with PTSD. I offer EMDR to clients facing various mental health conditions, including PTSD, anxiety, anger and aggression, depression, chronic pain, phobias, and other trauma-related issues. EMDR helps individuals change negative beliefs about themselves, such as "I'm not good enough," and fosters healthier beliefs about themselves, others, and the world. This process can lead to significant improvements in current symptoms, allowing individuals to live more meaningful and adaptive lives.

She offered thoughtful advice and helped me see certain situations from new and healthier perspectives—things I hadn’t considered before. Her presence was warm and grounded, and I left the session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the journey ahead. I’m really looking forward to continuing this work with her.
