As your therapist, I will provide a safe, nurturing, supportive, and confidential environment for you to share your life story with me. I’m truly passionate about mental health, I love being a therapist and I can tell you that God loves us very much and cares about our mental health well-being and happiness. As your therapist, I also care about you, and if its okay with you, I would love to support you in exploring a deeper relationship with Christ, and that you can learn healthier behaviors to improve relationships, learn healthier ways to communicate with others, explore your own needs and desires, and just feel happier. As your therapist, I want to support you and guide you in achieving emotional, behavioral, and relational well-being, and live your life with faith, peace, love, and joy. We will explore your strengths, coping mechanisms, resources, and God-given gifts to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life according to God's plan for you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I'm interested in knowing more about you, your life story, what brings you to therapy, and discuss your therapy goals. This is your journey of healing and recovery, and through God’s grace and providence, you can achieve healing and wholeness that you have been longing in your life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe in the importance of human kindness, compassion, empathy, respect, community, discipleship, and most of all I want to share my love for Jesus Christ with you. My skills are empathetic and reflective listening, and using curiosity to explore your story. I will utilize silence as a tool to help you in sitting with your experience and to aid you in processing thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I will walk with you, I will hold your hand when its needed, and I will be intentionally direct with you if it will help you grow.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I would love to work with clients who are open to exploring their relationship with Christ, and are willing to allow God to bring healing, and wholeness in their lives. Additionally, I would like to work with clients who are open to exploring their trauma, current/past relationship problems, want to learn healthier ways of communicating, and have a desire for healing and growth in their lives.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I provide therapeutic support by addressing the person’s emotional and relational wellbeing while integrating science, faith, and my profession. I am a practicing Catholic, and I utilize the Catholic doctrine and church’s teachings to provide therapeutic support to individuals with various forms of mental health struggles as well as supporting the person’s journey of conversion and walk with Christ. I consider myself to be conservative with traditional Christian values and beliefs rooted in my Catholic faith.

Attachment-based

Many experience brokenness as a result of trauma throughout their lives. Many individuals experience emotional wounds and pain that have not yet healed from which can cause significant emotional, relational, and physical problems. In therapy, we will explore your childhood upbringing, early relationship with primary caregiver, and your childhood and adult attachment style. In adult relationships, we will explore your attachment style (anxious or avoidant), relationship dynamics, effective communication skills, and help you build more meaningful connections with loved ones.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

If you are constantly struggling with negative thoughts and poor behavior choices, then CBT is the right treatment for you. Our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are closely connected, and thus I can support you in finding healthier thoughts and behaviors to help you feel better. For example, if you think “I’m a failure,” then you are more likely to feel bad and act in ways that reinforce this negative thought. Thankfully, you can change negative thought patterns, break negative cycles, and build confidence.

Strength-Based

In therapy, we will explore your strengths, coping mechanism, resources, and support system to help you navigate and overcome daily-life challenges. We will build upon what is already working for you because you are the expert of your life. I will help you set meaningful and achievable goals that align with your values and strengths.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Many times we struggle with anxiety because of fear and uncertainty, or when we are constantly living in the future. I would like to teach you a method of acceptance which includes willingly embracing thoughts and feelings without trying to change or avoid them, and thus you will learn to see thoughts simply as words or mental events, not literal truths, so they have less power. In other words, not because a thought feels scary, means that it's true. For commitment, we will work on identifying what truly matters to you in life and take meaningful steps guided by your values to live a more fulfilling life.
