Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist based in California. I received my Masters from the University of Phoenix. I retired last year from a County position where I assisted adults, adolescences, and children struggling with suicidal ideation, hopelessness, and low self-worth find themselves. I have been using a person-centered approach for over 9 years working with individuals and families struggling with and managing severe to acute mental illness.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session we will go through introductions. Then you and I will discuss and explore your reason for seeking therapy, your symptoms, stressors, what has worked and what hasn't. I may provide psychoeducation to help you understand certain automatic thoughts and perspectives developed in the past that appear to inhibit recovery. We will use what we find to define the structure, priorities, goals, and the work to be done.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
As a person-centered therapist I do not judge people's behaviors. I find most people experiencing any level of mental illness often know the answer to their pain; however, struggle with the fear they will be judged, which can increase unnecessary shame and guilt, fear that symptoms and life will become worse, or that they will express their pain and not be heard. I like the fact I can often create an environment where a person can explore these thoughts safely.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I strongly believe in recovery. Whether recovery requires medication, is an individual choice and even then may not be permanent. I best serve individuals willing to explore different ways of seeing the challenges; those that seem to have stalled in the recovery process and may need a different perspective to move forward again; and those that may need to talk out an issue in a non-judgmental environment.

I will not tell you how to live your life. I will help you, discover how you want to live your life.

I can’t thank my therapist enough for the impact he’s had on my life. From day one, he got straight to the heart of things. His insight into my behavior was eye-opening, and for the first time in a long time, I’ve been able to see myself as the good guy in my own story and not the bad guy. Every session was intentional deeply helpful. I left each one with clarity & feeling lighter If you’re looking for someone who truly listens and helps you get to the root of things. I highly recommend him.
